Does your mind throw up the same stock photos as mine?

I hate the establishment shot: we’re told we’re in London with an opening shot of Westminster Hall and Big Ben, then on to a story that has nothing to do with UK government. But I wonder if my mind still requires this, and if what I see when a topic is raised, is it the same as most everyone else?

When I think about three cities during WWII, each starting with the letter L, is the image that comes to my mind the same as yours?

Los Angeles in WWII: a serviceman beating up a Hispanic zoot-suiter

London in WWII: a firefighter among collapsing brick buildings

Lenningrad in WWII: a corpse being pulled on a child’s sled

What stock photos does your mind keep on file?

I agree with London, but my stock photos for the others are different. For LA it’s just a landscape with heat, haze, and palm trees, although there probably wasn’t smog back then.

For Leningrad, it’s a frozen soldier, eyes open and seemingly staring ahead.
