One of my family members got married recently. They wanted their puppy to walk down the aisle with them. It was an outdoor wedding, so the venue didn’t have a problem with it. The puppy pooped at the beginning of the aisle. Cue father of the bride scrambling around for a poop bag.
We didn’t tape it to the Roomba. The Roomba was dressed properly in a bow tie and carrying a ring-bearer pillow. It was all very dignified. And silly. Which was the point.
What prevents those ultra-rich people from operating the elevators themselves? Is this one of those stately old buildings with classic old elevators?
When you write that they bought the whole place, you mean they just rented or booked every facility in the place? Did they just rent the entire place for the day? (Not actually bought the place?) How did they get to book those rooms with the permanent residents that lived there? They just out-bid them, and the club kicks them out? Some sleazy slimy club, if in fact that’s what happened. Or did they go to the residents and make them an offer? (And if so, was it one they could refuse?) Did they really have to pack their bags and move out for good, or just be somewhere else for the day? Did they get to move back in afterward?
To be honest, I have always found (literally, since I was as young as I can remember) that most dogs are more civilized and better company than most people. I like to hang out at dog-parks just to be around more dogs and less people. I think public parks (and other such places) would be better with more dogs and less people. I read somewhere once, that some public officials somewhere were thinking of sheltering homeless people in an unused wing of the dog pound, and there was a massive public outrage about that. Really, I’d have volunteered to be first in line there!
I still dream of a wedding that includes my dogs. First I have to find someone to marry me, but after that, ring bearer and flower girl will be pointy eared and furry.
They spent a lot of money on a wedding… so? The last Kardashian wedding cost 10 million. I’m sure that money could have fed a lot of homeless people, too, but it didn’t.
It was pretty simple to Google. Here is a list of the charities that she helps to support. It probably amounts to significantly more money in one year than you and I combined in our life times.
I’m all for the dog being part of the ceremony if the dog is going to be considered part of the family. That said, I would have simply changed the venue to a dog-friendly one, or wouldn’t have even considered a no-dogs-allowed venue in the first place.
My buddies dog was his best man and wore a tux custom made by a tailor. Of course, he works with the dog every day (cop and police-dog) and had the support of the community. The tailor donated his time, etc.
