Dog has a fungus. Any ideas?

Kiko is five years old, a medium, mixed breed dog.

He has seen three vets. They all seem to agree that he has a fungus. It is on his back and is about three square inches of which there is no hair. Apparently the fungus is common here in the tropics. He has had this problem for four weeks.

All vets agree on frequent baths. One vet says he has mites, and gave an injection for it.

I have purchased recommended sprays, bath soap, gels, etc. Nothing seems to be effective.

I am turning to you folks. Anyone acquainted with this condition.

Kiko and I thank you.

The first thing you should do is to wash all your dogs bedding in very hot water and put in a hot dryer, then check your dog food and see what in it , a lot of dogs can’t eat grains or chicken if you can buy some
yogurt probiotics for dogs . You can Google to find out more about it . I wouldn’t feed your dog any dogs food that has coloring in it pets don’t care what color or shape their dog is . Do could try putting a T shirt on your dog to keep it clean when taking out or light dog coat. Poor puppy ! :frowning: There are pets forums have you tried seeing if there is any for dogs with the same problem ?

Try some of the anti fungal over the counter cream. It can’t hurt. Used for ring worm, jock itch, athletes feet etc. Very effective on fungus.

Except don’t, because your dog might ingest it.
