Treated at 2 hospitals? Makes one wonder which hospital got which pieces…
Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright.
You can tell that to the marines, Lon Chaney, “Junior” or not.
Actually, you can tell it to Kurt Siodmak, who made up that bit of doggerel, along with a lot of other bits of werewolf and vampire “lore”.
He’s the guy who rescued the “vampires dissolve in daylight” trope from limbo after Florence Stoker had as many copies of Nosferatu burned as she could get her hands on. He must’ve remembered it from his screenwriting days in Germany, and pressed it into service in the 1940s in Son of Dracula and House of Frankenstein as a stake-less, blood-less antiseptic way to kill off vampires. When Hammer Films decided to kill of Christopher Lee’s Dracula in 1957, the trope was set in stone.
Kurt Siodmak made up “You can tell it to the Marines, Swabby”?
Nomen est omen.
No, Siodmak made up the wolfman chant, as I said.
I assume from your post about “Junior” or not you know about Chaney Sr. and the Marines.
Some things are best not mentioned.
