Dog the bounty hunter. You disapoint me sir.

Dog says on the tape that the son had told the family he was in love with the girl. I think it’s kind of tasteless to suggest (on the basis of no evidence at all) that the son is himself a racist who doesn’t really love the girl and just has a thing for black chicks.

You’re right about that, though I said “if”, but I still say he can truly be in love with one black girl, and be as racist as dad towards others. He absolutely did the right thing for anyone not last name Chapman, because fans of the show, especially black ones, have a right to know what kind of guy he really is.

Paedophile A turning in Paedophile B over an argument is a good thing, always. But then paedophile A maybe now comes out looking good and then goes back to doing what he does. If non racist son did this to expose his racist dad, then I appluad him. If he’s a racist as well who did this in a moment of anger, and he really loves dad and family and is regretting it now, they I say he did not do the right thing for his family. Imagine going back and being around a family you love and they love for you for the rest of your life, knowing you cost them all their livelihood and big bucks over a moment of anger. That’s all I’m saying. The end result is good, and that’s the best for non family, but the reason behind it may be the honorable one it appears to be.

I mean, would it surprise anyone if “Dog” himself has at some point had sex with or dated black women? Not me.

It’s lucky for him that that Iranian dude didn’t use the “n word” on his visit to New York. Otherwise, we’d probably be marching into Tehran right now.

I’m sorry but what the fuck is that supposed to mean? :dubious:

Lol what the fuck do you think it means?

That all uneducated white people are racist?

That’s why I ask, because surely that’s not what you mean. Right? I’m giving you benefit of the doubt here.

Right.

Well then, what exactly do you mean?

Well, I see it like this-I can abuse and shit on my family (well, verbally) 'til the cows come home. But if someone else does it, I see red.
I think THAT’S why it’s more acceptable for black people to call each other niggers. Because they’re not “outsiders”, if you will.

As for Dog, meh. He’s a dick anyway. (And what’s up with the mullet?)

That anyone who calls himself “Dog the Bounty Hunter” is probably a rough, violent person (or sees himself as a rough violent person) who won’t blanch at using foul language, which includes racial slurs.

What’s the saying? Lie down with Dog…

And i can’t believe that you think that how this affects the TV crew is relevant to this story.

Seconded.

Well, I just listened to all five minutes and some-odd of the recording, and what he said was more along the lines of, “…We say nigger around here…we don’t mean ‘you fucking scum nigger without a soul,’…but America would think we mean that… .”

And my question four Dog is: Well, what exactly *do * you mean when you use “nigger”?

And he also mentioned that “if Lisa [Tucker’s sister, perhaps?] was dating a nigger, we would all say, “Fuck you,” and you know it.”

So, it looks as if his agita isn’t about some unprincipaled girl; it’s all about the “nigger”.

Yeah, fuck him.

And *Wee Bairn ** has a point: It’s possible that Tucker could be in love with a Black women but still be racist. I certainly wouldn’t have a hard time believing it. And if that’s the case, fuck him, too.

*I say this because, sometimes, when I encounter (in passing) White male/Black female couples, I get a strange vibe from the White dudes. Y’know, like (at the least) an apprehensive kind of vibe. I realize that the apprehension I sense might be based on the White dude’s fear–based either on actual experience or some bullshit that other people have fed him–that I, as a Black man, will give him grief about his being with a Black woman (funny, when, all things being equal, I couldn’t care less, except maybe to hope that it represents some kind of progress). Sometimes, though, sometimes I get an unmistakable whiff of that “yeah, nigger, that’s right, I’m with one of *your * women 'cause I have the money/education/success/whatever that (I think/she thinks) you don’t have” vibe. And I’m thhinking: Dude, WTF?!

Yeah, but in this particular case would he really sell out his Dad if he thought his GF was nothing more than a “Nigger?”

I’m not saying that kind of thing doesn’t happen.

Yeah, I could see him doing that, if he’s angry enough. Remember human nature/emotionality/race issues are complicated things, especially mixed together.

What he’s hearing about his girl might make him angry for any or all of the following reasons: (a) he’s simply angry at Dog for calling the woman he cared about a derogatory name;* (b) Dog’s calling her that reminds him that, deep down, he thinks of her as that too; or © if going against everything he’s been taught and shown is tearing him up enough.

  • There’s another website that talks about buring inner-city pathology(ies) that I visit where a poster compared this theory to the “momma theory.” I can say (and believe) whatever I want to about my momma, but you’re not allowed to go there.

L’il Pluck, very interesting post and perspective in your last paragraph; I’ve noticed that too, or at least thought it, rightly or wrongly.

You got as much evidence for this “if” as you do for an “if” that makes the son a anti-abortion terrorist, a wife beater, or a cat molestor. Sure it’s possible that the guy could be racist, but if he has a black girlfriend I somehow doubt that he’s of the same caliber as his dad.

you’re right, it isn’t. I retract that.

you with the face, you may not agree, but I can’t imagine a guy so racist that he wouldn’t date a really hot black woman who wanted to date him. And i know people like that- I have no idea the case here, just throwing it out, that the son isn’t automatically someone taking a stance against racism- he may have just been pissed off. Hell I once saw a Jerry Springer (not the best source, natch) where a racist guy was dating a black girl, and he called nigger to her face.

Ahem, post #69.

You know, I think Dog is an ignorant, most probably racist dumbass. How in the world can he not control his language if he believes it threatens everything he worked so hard to build? But it was just a phone conversation, not a call to arms. Like these folks seem to think.

If anyone is inciting violence it’s the Enquirer, for publishing the tape, not Dog. He was just being an idiot asshole in a private conversation with his son.

Well, they’re right that Dog’s comments were demeaning to Black women (and not just Black women), and his attitudes do represent an attack on interracial relationships (I’m assuming they meant romantic relationships). Having listened to the taped conversation, I think, however, that the stuff about inciting violence (I take it that they meant “directly inciting”) is over the top.

I must also disagree, by the way, that the Enquirer, by publicizing the conversation, was inciting violence. Do you really believe this? If so, why?

I included that paragraph to refer to a particular type of discussion going on about the topic, not just the phenomenon itself.
