How’s it going?
Having been a lurker for practically forever, I’ve just recently started posting. And have what I fear is a really stupid question - don’t even know if this is the right place for it but it is at least somewhat related, so here goes.
How do you get a link to a photo that you want to dislay? I went to the section of the board where this is covered, and found only the following:
*To post a link to some website address with a picture or image, you can just type the url, such as typing:
www.straightdope.com *
But it doesn’t tell how to get the photo on that website in a viewable fashion. Any advice here would be very much appreciated. Or if anyone can provide a link to somewhere with detailed instructions on the whole procedure of linking up to a photo, that would also be great.
So how do you paste the URL in the box? control-v is paste. Edit-paste doesn’t work while the pop-up box is open.
You’re doing something very tricky here.
I right-click to get a pop-up menu that that includes “paste” as an option.
Ah, OK, got it. Yup, Ivory’s method works your way also. I’ll rewrite your instructions to match hers.
Your instructions with additions in blue and deletions in strike-out.
- Copy the URL. (Right click on link and select copy)
- Press the Link button.
[del]2a. delete the “http://” that’s already there.[/del] - Paste the URL in the box, (Right click on space and select paste), which will automatically write over the http: in the box
- Press OK.
- Type “Rosenbaum” which will automatically write over the the second URL that would otherwise appear in the link.
The only way I could replicate your method was to click in the box after the http: and unhighlight the http: before I pasted it. That’s an extra step.
