Trump’s only hope for getting rid of the gag order is the Supreme Court. The Appeals Court won’t hear it.
The guy has no friends on the court. Not one.
No judge on the full bench requested a vote on Trump’s motion, which means it was automatically dismissed.
I think he really fucked up when he ignored (or didn’t know) that these justices owe him nothing. He may have put them there, but he can’t remove them (on his own) and they aren’t beholden to him. They are, in some sense, more powerful than him.
But it’s a nice change to see the whole ‘fuck you, I got mine’ thing working in reverse.
I interpreted @Procrustus remarks as pertaining to the Appeals Court (ie, U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia).
Was I right??
That’s what I meant. Yes. I do fear he has a friend or two on the US Supreme Court.
But Joey’s right too, I don’t think the Justices feel any particular loyalty. Some of them just have similar [lack of] values.
I do too but a friend or two on a court of nine isn’t going to get rulings in his favor, and it hasn’t in the past either.
OK, show of hands, how many other folks misread this at first?
I ain’t tellin’.
And I ain’t sayin’ how long I took.

Two more Jan 6thers have been arrested, thanks to the Sedition Hunters (I really want to sign up with them-it sounds rewarding and fascinating). One was a dishonorably discharged military veteran who apparently shot a man in Iraq while serving there.
The other is a guy who’s been featured in Biden campaign photos. I wonder if he could charge them for using his likeness? (jk) The photographer who took that picture must have been terrified.
I didn’t know that the statute of limitations for Jan 6th participants is early 2026.
Why did it take so long following the identification for his arrest ?
January 2026 would be a five year limitation period.
And, a judge has ordered him released
The man with a history of violence? Sure, what’s the worst that could happen? /s
I’m sure the Lawn Order crowd will be along any moment now to bitch about “Catch and Release”.
Any moment now.
Good. I’ve got a few minutes to … Idunno … hike the Annapurna Circuit.
The House has been subpoenad by the DOJ. Not too sure if it’s related to this thread, but since Scott Perry lost his Jack Smith case re: his cell phone just last week (or the week before), this might be related.
Nope, looks like it was a grand jury subpoena to Democratic Representative Cori Bush of New Jersey for alleged misuse of federal funds. Nothing in print yet, just reported on the news.
As one of Cori Bush’s constituents, I am reasonably certain she does not represent New Jersey, or else I am really confused about where I live.
Ahh, so sorry. I was listening. I heard “New Jersey,” but of course they said, “Missouri.”
It’s hell getting old.
Thanks for the correction.
At least you didn’t mishear it as “zoo jury” and worry that Cori Bush was going to have to testify in front of a bunch of exotic animals.
