This might be the most depressing celebrity death I’ve seen in a long while. I’m not a particular fan of her music*, but she was just such a wonderful human. Describing someone as a national treasure is overdone, but she’s someone who absolutely deserved it.
* Her music is amazing, it’s just not my thing personally.
I will always remember how she promoted vaccines during covid, (before that she also helped Moderna start with a bit of funding)
Showing how a coward was Trump for not publishing pictures of him doing the same so as to be an example to others then. Other presidents in the past published photos of them getting their shots when dealing with epidemics in the past.

I’ve never been a fan of country music, but over the last few years - mostly after learning about her philanthropy and hearing what a genuinely lovely person she is - I’d become a Dolly fan. This news saddens me way more than I thought it would
Whether or not you liked her music (and she was quite talented as both a writer and a performer) her philanthropic efforts really elevated her standing in my eyes.
