I think it works for the Dolly versions, too.

Several big names in current country are performing on the Telethon too.
I think Miley Cyrus is on The Voice finale next Tues. Otherwise she would be there for Dolly. Miley’s foundation Happy Hippie is a sponsor for the wildfire victims fund.
All the performers are donating their time.
More than 700 families have signed up for help.

I’ll watch on the Great American Country channel. The telethon will also be live streamed on USAToday.com and a few other sites.
Miley Cyrus is actually Dolly’s godchild.
Dolly rocks.
I like Dolly for her musical talent, but I love her for all the work she does to improve the lives of others.
Dolly originally said 1,000 a month for up to six months, for each family that lost a home in the wildfire.
More than 700 families have signed up for assistance so far. That’s potentially 4.2 million dollars that will be paid in the next 6 months. Probably closer to 5 million. That’s serious money.
Im very impressed that they are distributing the assistance checks so quickly. No red tape. No promises of getting it in a few weeks or months.
Dolly rocks. She knows how badly these families need funds to rent a new home, buy groceries, clothes and so on.

Has anyone mentioned that Dolly rocks?
Even more big names have agreed to perform at Dolly’s Telethon. I posted the other names a few days ago.
This is shaping up to be one heck of a musical event. Maybe Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo will drop by. ![]()
I know it’s all about raising money. But, I’m really looking forward to seeing these performances. I didn’t know Don McLean was even still performing. Bye bye Miss American Pie drove my Chevy to the levy and the fire dept made it dry.
I’m a little surprised this hasn’t been picked up by any higher-tier cable networks like TNN or CMT (but I haven’t had cable for a couple of years so maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about). Also surprised that none of the local TV stations in Nashville/Knoxville/Chattanooga are broadcasting it over the air, at least to my knowledge. I’m glad it will at least be available streaming at the links given above.
I am, too. I do see on my cable system that it is being shown on RFDTV, in addition to GAC. Neither of those are as widely available as other channels, though. I suspect that it may be shown at later dates on other networks, but that doesn’t help the fundraising. I already sent money to Dolly’s Foundation for the fire victims.
Good on Dolly. She’s a class act - big boobs, bad wigs and all.
Wow. Paul Simon just donated $100K.

Tyler Swift donated $100k too.
I’m enjoying the performances. Most of them don’t have their bands. I enjoy really basic stripped down music. It’s like you dropped by Allison Krause home and heard a jam session.
I wish they had a small audience. Even 20 people would add energy to the performances.
I know this was set up quickly with little rehearsal.
Deirks Bentley gave $100K, too. But I guess I wouldn’t think of Paul Simon supporting TN. $50K from Kid Rock, but he has ties to Nashville.

It’ll be interesting to see how much money gets raised.
They added an extra 800 number to handle all the calls. I think they probably did ok.
Kenny Rogers is retiring after his current tour. This may have been the last time he performed with Dolly.
