No offense, but I always thought that was The French Mystique. Now I have to wonder, given the recent John Mellencamp thread that revealed the line in Club Cherry Bomb was “that’s when a sport was a sport” rather than “a smoke was a smoke” like I thought.
But be that as it may, that scene and its end, “Watch me, **faggots!”, are always the first thing I think of when I think of Dom DeLuise.
A friend of mine (he works about 20 feet from where I am now, when he gets back I’ll have to get him to retell the story) met him through a family member who was working with DeLuise at the time. My friend was warned that Dom would aggresively hit on anything with a penis. And he did. Wasn’t very subtle about it.
Poor Dom. It’s just MHO, but quite often these SS harassment suits against celebrities are based on little more than maybe some flirting or mild hitting on. It’s stuff straight people with penises get away with all the time and no one bats an eyelash. The hope for a payoff is based on the closeted celebrity’s fear of being outed, and it’s really nothing more than blackmail.
The fact Dom was married and had kids makes it pretty obvious he wasn’t out, which always makes a person a juicy target for this shit. I don’t doubt (or care) whether he was gay, but I’m dubious he was practically raping poor innocent young men all over Hollywood, like some Baron Harkonnen.
