One may then assume that you have no interest in citing your posts on the SDMB that support liberal positions? Posts which, one would assume according to your statement, “In fact I have more liberal positions than conservative ones,” outnumber your posts supporting conservative positions?

I guess there aren’t as many outrageous posts by conservatives (this board is a beehive of liberalism), so I haven’t chimed in on many of them.

Actually, no, that would be useless. I tend to not put much faith in position papers, it is more actions that I believe.

I, as a liberal, have occasionally supported (to a greater or lesser extent, sometimes right - sometimes wrong) conservative positions on the board. (The ACORN flap, gonzomax is a moron, and a few others.) Those positions are out there for all to see that I have put my reputation out there for all to see. There is, however, no doubt to either the liberals or the conservatives of this board that I support more liberal than conservative positions.

I, to believe that you support more (or even some) liberal postitions, as opposed to conservative positions, would need to see evidence of that here. I don’t.

Frustrated by recent political setbacks, tea party leaders and some conservative members of the Oklahoma Legislature say they would like to create a new volunteer militia to help defend against what they believe are improper federal infringements on state sovereignty.

So the minority political movement that cannot achieve its goal at the ballot box says taking up arms against the majority is now justified.

Call me a Tory, but these boys need to feel the full weight of the US Army on their asses. Sedition should not be tolerated. If liberals can refrain from violence for eight years under the Bush regime, there can sure as hell stick to the political process to register their discontent. Otherwise, eat lead, fuckers. A few well placed Hellfire missiles should teach them proper respect for the law.

RNATB, I shouldn’t have to remind you that the CBO is required the score the bill based on the ‘garbage in-garbage out’ that it’s made of. In other words, it must assume that the preposterous assumptions in there will pan out (DocFix, Medicare Advantage savings, etc.)

No, the CBO is required to score the bill based on its own projections.

This, and other reasons, I believe, is why much of the public was against this bill. This is why the Democrats will pay for passing it this November. And to some extent, the logrolling and tricks used by the Dems to get it passed over the will of the people has sparked off a lot of the violence and threats on this emotional issue.

Much of the public was against this bill because the public was poorly informed (or deliberately misinformed, more accurately). Polls consistently showed that the public supported the bill’s provisions; they just didn’t support the bill itself, because of (admirable) steering of the debate by the right.

It’s like that episode of the Man Show where they carried around a petition and asked women to support their efforts to end womens’ suffrage (“you don’t want women to suffer, do you?”) and fooled dozens of women into signing.
