Donald Just Lost The Election

Can’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good now can we? Plus 2nd amendment rights. Taking a tougher line on expansion of federal government via abuse of commerce clause are also more a right wing justice.

Now if the left would’ve pushed to strike down civil forfeiture that’d sway me a bit in that direction. But the left loves statism and I don’t.

Trump wants to open up libel laws, so he personally can sue newspapers who say mean things about him.

Trump is on record stating that the media is “disgusting”, and that free expression is the reason there is terrorism.

But hey… As long as the court does not overrule the right of corporations to fund politicians, our free speech is safe, right?

This election is a terrible dilemma.

Close. It’s terrible that people think there’s any dilemma.

What disastrous consequences have our campaign finance laws had so far?

Assuming you don’t buy the NRA mouth-foaming fearful rhetoric, what 2nd amendment rights could realistically be at stake?

Well, sorry about that, it was past my bedtime.

I believe that Trump, in pursuing Obama’s birth certificate after his reelection, was expecting to unearth a 1960’s era document that says “Record of Illegitimate Birth” or something to that effect, and/or some evidence of him being Muslim. That is the alt-right mentality; I’m not sure that the word racism really covers it.

This is potentially devastating for Trump’s hopes. Even if the story quickly fades away in the national press, it will probably have a more lasting impact in Florida, and I can’t see him losing the Sunshine state and having any shot at a victory. He can lose PA, but Trump’s victory map includes Florida. Without it, his chances are extremely slim.

Is it still that terrible a dilemma after reading the two stories in this post?:

I swear, Lester Holt had better ask some of these questions during the debates. This whole “It’s not my job to ask anything other than cupcake questions” is bullshit. Hell, might as well let TMZ start doing the debates if once-respectable organizations like NBC are going to chicken out and bail on very legitimate questions. If we’re going to hear about Hillary’s damn emails, then ordinary people need to know the record of Trump’s fraud.

Trump might be the best candidate at working the refs that there’s ever been.

Trump really, really likes to propose things that have already been found to be unconstitutional. Does he really think that he gets to become king and just dictate what he wants?

The Trump Foundation troubles have definitely attracted NBC’s attention, plus he will be well aware of Trump’s plan to reintroduce unconstitutional stop and frisk polices (and by extension, racial profiling) in black communities. I’m not expecting a repeat of Matt Lauer’s performance - remember that it reflected badly on Holt’s employer.

This is an interesting opinion:

That would probably involve offenses alleged to have occurred while acting as president, no?

I understand that impeachment is a political process and not a legal one, but I don’t think voters would support impeachment unless we were talking about Oval Office crimes. The one exception might be is if Trump ends up actually being prosecuted criminally to the point of legal jeopardy. It’s moot anyway because Trump would have to piss off republicans first. But if he didn’t carry their water, who knows…

He sure does, and that’s why he’s running for president IMNSHO.

It’s gotten to the point where it could be proven that this guy is involved in a pedophile ring on the Dark Web, and it wouldn’t matter. :smack:

Yes.

And to expand on that, in the unlikely event Trump gets elected, it will be entertaining watching his meltdown as he learns it doesn’t work that way.

Not perzackly, but that he will propose these changes and the Washington elites will try and stop him, but the people will rise up and demand that Hindenburg name him Chancellor.

My bold.

“Learns?” But since he already knows everything (to the extent that he doesn’t even need to read books), it will be even more entertaining to observe his refusal to learn that it doesn’t work that way.
