There were a few early prognosticators who, through luck or foresight, landed on the right side of the result:
BrainGlutton:
Does it? Don’t entirely rule out the possibility that, through some freak combination of flukes, he might actually win . . . and then the most powerful republic in the world will be led by that extraterrestrial parasitic organism that lives on The Donald’s scalp!
In fact some folks were strangely prescient…
Sam_Lowry:
Not only will Trump suck up publicity, but he’ll also shine a light on some Republican issues in a way others might not like. Like here , when an RNC official pretty much went along with what Trump was saying about immigrants, though he wouldn’t have used the same language.
Typo_Knig:
A Facebook friend just re-posted a quote from Trump’s FB page about how terrible Obamacare is. It was an incoherent, cherry-picking mess of a quote, even less connected to reality than the usual GOP anti-Obamacare rants. Yet my friend forwarded it, and other people clicked the like button. The Hairpiece is going to get votes in the primaries, lots of them, more than enough to justify keeping his campaign going as long as he wants.
magellan01:
Yes, I think many here will be shocked to see how will Trump does. Not only with Reps, but with Independents. A LOT of people are really tired of the same old bullshit. A lot on the left, too, but for them Trumps more conservative politics make him not an option.
But at least I didn’t automatically dismiss him out of hand and assume he was too unpalatable for the country…
Gyrate:
No, just let him keep talking. I mean, Republican candidates have had great success in the past talking about rape, and I’m sure the same will be true for Trump.
Oh, goddammit…
This bump reminded me of another thread and whaddya know, iiandyiiii also started the wildly successful:
The 2016 Election Schadenfreude thread
I enjoy that tradition, and plan to continue it, hell or high water.
Heartbreaking. We were all so young and naive back then…
It was ironic that this site became the place to go to.
Indeed, though the original intent of the thread did not preclude mocking/laughing at other Dopers. I’m sure much fun was had by all; what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

For what it’s worth, lots of Dopers were wrong way wrong in this thread. Even Trump didn’t think he was going to win.
I think we have enough similar threads without zombies.
Closed.
