Federal judge calls Trump’s obvious bluff…

Ironically, THIS indictment was unsealed today.

In any other time, this would’ve been bigger news, but you may not hear much because Broidy isn’t a household name. He was finance chair of the RNC from 2005 to 2008. He was convicted of bribery and corruption in 2009 a felony conviction that was later reduced to a misdemeanor in exchange for ratting out his cronies.

He was big fundraiser for Trump and the RNC in 2016, and was made deputy chair of the RNC in 2017-2018, because apparently a criminal conviction fir corruption isn’t disqualifying. He quit after a scandal in which he paid off a Playboy Playmate 1.6 million to shut up a put their affair. Apparently it’s much more profitable to screw Broidy than it is to screw Trump.

He’s also apparently one of Trump’s closest friends. Today’s indictment was for trying to sell access to Trump to some foreign criminals that needed the USA’s help in evading the law. And the thing I found funny about that was that he couldn’t do it. This guy gave his all to fill Trump’s coffers for years and all he asked was that Trump play one lousy game of golf with some foreign embezzler that wanted to pitch some shade to get Trump to intervene in his prosecution. Broidy took 8.5 million dollars from the guy and got nothing but run-around from WH staff for months.

This is how Trump pays back his friends.

And Kearsen, I’m going to admit that I’m always a little worried when the White House cooks up on of its little schemes, even though I know there’s nothing to it …it’s the Roadrunner election, and every time they’re racing towards the cliff, I can’t help but get this feeling that maybe Wile E Coyote will win this one. But that’s only because I’m flashing back to 2016.

I know they aren’t going to find credible information that the Russia investigation was started for illegitimate reasons, because there are multiple legitimate reasons that were publicly known and indisputable.

What most people don’t know, and this is the foundation of a lot of gaslighting - is the bar for opening an preliminary FBI inquiry is low. Really low. Flynn’s Op-Ed on Turkey would’ve been cause for investigation. The presence of people like Manafort and the above mentioned Broidy on a national Presidential campaign would be cause for investigation.

You may not agree with this, and frankly I don’t either. But it’s the way federal law enforcement works. They treat everyone this way. The weren’t picking on Trump.

They arrest people for lying to them all the time, even if they never build a case. They dig through people’s histories and finances looking for crimes they can leverage into cooperation, crimes that might never be prosecuted otherwise. They threaten to charge family complicit family members unless they get cooperation. They break down doors at 5AM and conduct massive military style raids on private citizens.

This is what a federal investigation looks like and it disingenuous to pretend you were treated unfairly because these things happened to you.

Yes, I would and yes, I do.

That…is an odd response to the only question I asked.

I was just answering this question.

Yes, It would bother me, as yes, it currently does bother me.

Sorry - I just found it odd that you didn’t go with “Yes I am”. But I take your point.

And I too would be bothered if any administration, including Obama’s, were revealed to be using the FBI or the DOJ for this purpose. But nothing in what has been revealed remotely demonstrates that the Obama administration did so.

Agreed

Where is Sam? Surely he has the answers on why the corrupt liberal media is stopping the most powerful president in the history of the US and the world from arresting these nefarious criminals that seem to be getting away with the BIGGEST crime in US history!!!

I can’t wait to see the declassified Mueller report. That will show those stupid libs, right Sam?

Or maybe Sam has realized that he has been completely radicalized by the right wing propaganda that he consumes… maybe? Sam used to be a smart Canadian that I enjoyed debating with and he actually changed some of my views because of his logic and persuasive arguments, but lately I just can’t see where he is coming from. He admits that Trump is a liar but wants to believe him in this case; why? I just don’t understand how “conservatives” (because lets face it, there is very little that is conservative about the current president, he is an anti-liberal and a demagogue, nothing more) choose when deciding to take the stuff Trump tweets seriously while ignoring other tweets as jokes.

Why this tweet Sam? Because you soooooo hope it is true? You so hope that Mueller was a dirty lib and deep state mole for his entire career and Trump is going to rescue those kids from the basement of that pizza place? Stand back and look at what you support! What happened to you principles?

^This.

How did Sam fall for this obviously bullshit PR stunt that reheats some clear Russian propaganda which both sides dismissed long ago?

Moderating: All of you. Stop the personal attacks. This whole thread has turned into a train wreck and I am going to close it.
