Donald Trump Declassifies all Documents Related to Russia/Collusion and Hillary Emails

I … thought the Steele Dossier… was started/paid by the Republicans. And when nothing juicy showed up right away… they (the Republicans) ditched it. Then Hillary’s People bought it… and more juicier stuff stuff was found?

Please, tell me I am wrong. my hubby would enjoy that. And I might have to change my mind that Hillary won’t be President. (Not that I wanted her…Bernie… sigh, Biden all the way!)

Shouldn’t something be splashed all over the news by now? Where are the big screaming banners on Fox News?

As far as I could tell, the only mention of this supposed “bombshell” was during Pence’s response to the next to last (or so) question, and said mention was so brief that one could easily have missed it. This suggests that the Administration knows they have nothing but innuendo, and just want to get the suggestion of wrongdoing out there, without the legitimacy of the accusation being examined too closely.

Yesterday the President accused his predecessor, opponent, and previous opponent of criminal conspiracy. And this didn’t make any headlines. This is just normal now.

Maybe no one cares about Trump’s nonsense anymore. Hopefully.

As I’ve said before, I’ve got some major dirt on Adlai Stevenson. It’s really juicy stuff! That guy is in big, big trouble now. This is big news! Important!

As to whether Trump would say something and release something stupid that undermines him, we shouldn’t forget the “release the transcript!” thing that actually led to his impeachment. He thought it was all innocent and when people read it, we all thought, holy shit! He just released his own confession!

All of that presupposes that his tweet actually leads to any release of any unredacted documents. I like Sam’s cover here, though – if the documents don’t actually come out, it some deep state conspiracy.

Trump’s twitter has lost its shock factor.

I haven’t really cared what he posts on there besides what is so noteworthy that the news has to pick up on it. He’s like all the right wing boomers on social media otherwise who pollute their feed with so much bullshit, lies and slander, you don’t want to get lost in the mud.

I have a theory the moment Biden is sworn in as president, Twitter will ban Donald Trump.

Can we put some parameters here? What’s the deadline? Maybe we can make it the 11 am Justice Department press conference today.

And what’s the exact requirement here? Given the tweet (“I have fully authorized” is in the past tense, and it is unconditional; “any & all documents” is unqualified; “no redactions” is really clear), any half-assed measures show that you took him at face value when you shouldn’t have. If he’s like, “Oh, those mean mean Deep State operatives won’t go along,” then you took him at face value when you shouldn’t have. If there are redactions, if only some documents are declassified, etc., then you should’ve known better.

Because that’s how he plays things. He gets a bug up his butt, says something ridiculous, and then never follows through. That’s why nobody but you is taking this seriously: the rantings of a madman who lacks object permanence are best ignored.

The answer to “Has Trump ever lied about something like this?” is always “Yes”.

Remember when he promised that he had “amazing” findings about Obama’s birth certificate?

Remember when they were about to reveal all sorts of evidence about Hunter Biden?

Remember the whole “Obamagate” thing from earlier this year, where there was tons of evidence about the FISA warrant and the FBI and Obama’s illegal surveillance of Trump, and they had a whole list of names, and any day now Bill Barr was going to produce a long list of indictments?

Trump has spent the last four (and more) years lying about everything . But this blatantly obvious lie, told by a desperate Trump right before the election, is the one you’re going to fall for?

My guess is that this is yet another Birther (or Hunter Biden) Conspiracy.

Remember the “Birther” conspiracy ? There was nothing to it. Absolutely nothing. But Trump isn’t stupid. He’s evil. He knew there was nothing to it, but that wasn’t the point. His trafficking in endless conspiracy theories is just Trump and his people doubling down on the same tactic: the allegation alone is damaging enough.

There doesn’t need to be any evidence behind it.

It’s the epitome of demagoguery, and it’s only possible because of the indefatigable tribal loyalty of his base.

He certainly roped in the No Critical Thinking Skills crowd. Quite an achievement, that.

My thought as well. At the CRAZY - and ever-increasing - pace things have been moving, you don’t make an announcement like this and fail to followup. Hell, who knows how many additional bombshells will drop today?!

“If Trump does nothing” is a cop-out, and a pretty blatant one at that. The phrase you’ve been harping on is that he has “fully authorized the total Declassification of any & all documents pertaining to…No redactions!”. So your bet should be that he actually does what he says - all documents on the topic should already have been authorized to declassify (if they aren’t but later are, that still makes Trump’s declaration a lie), no relevant documents are missing (if they are, then ‘any & all’ is a lie), and all have no redactions at all (any black bars and it’s a lie).

And the big thing is not so much coming back with a martyr-like “I’ve been fooled by this shocking lie, I’m a weenie and so sorry!” but to admit and acknowledge that the person you believed a conman who has something like 20,000 documented lies during his presidency, who’s whole career is based on lies and presenting a false image to people, and who has repeatedly told big lies in the past (as people have linked on this thread). If you don’t admit the truth about the person who you thought it reasonable to believe and berated people for not believing, then any apology is just theatrics to distract from any real discussion.

And just like the transcript, Trump supporters will refuse to read it and take Trump’s word for what it says, all the while screaming “Read the transcript!” to those who actually have.

[slight hijack] I am disappointed that Harris allowed Pence to spout the company line “No collusion. No obstruction.” unopposed. The Mueler report said “no collusion was necessary” and “the DOJ has a rule about not bringing up charges on a sitting President for things like Obstruction of Justice.” OK, I’ll give them “no collusion”, but the report did NOT say “no obstruction”. [/slight hijack]

Yeah, it really does seem like a parallel situation to the transcript of the call.

…or failing to come back at all…

Trump declassifies a bunch of bullshit Russian disinformation that a Republican committee had already decided was bullshit. Trump likely did this on orders from Putin.

I bet Hillary is shaking in her boots.

This is what I find most baffling about this thread – the Republican Senate already had a look at these docs and decided there’s no there there. What does Sam Stone think we’ll uncover that the Senate committee was unable to?

Smells more like Sean Hannity or Michael Savage got his ear on this one. They pummel the Steele Dossier bullshit into the ground on a daily basis.

He appears to think that if this is true, it will somehow negate the judgments of multiple US intelligence agencies, all the evidence in the Mueller report, all the evidence in the recent Senate committee report, the fact that six Trump associates committed felony perjury to hide their meetings with Russia (and that Sessions was about to be investigated for doing the same before he simply fired the guy investigating him, and that Jared repeatedly “forgot” to report his own meetings with Russia on his security clearance application), and the wide range of other evidence tying Trump to Russia in less-than-honorable ways.

But it’s not going to turn out to be true. And even if it were true, it wouldn’t remotely prove that Trump wasn’t engaged in de facto collusion with Russia.
