Donald Trump is now a birther

Holy crap, I clicked on this expecting a parody, but this guy is actually serious!

Aye, as is the guy I work with who posted the link to a radio show that led me to that website.

Another breath of fresh air! And much like the wind ** SA** happily sucks, eerily reminiscent of what recently escaped the tailpipe of my mother’s sick bulldog.

Stupidity should HURT. Willful ignorance should hurt even more.

Oh, it does. It does.

Why would the CIA or the Saudis hire a homeless junkie drop-out to do their bidding?
You’d think they could do better.

Wow. I was going to say something about the fresh air smelling like what is coming from my dog’s behind (my mother doesn’t have a bulldog). I’m thinking like Vinyl Turnip! I’m so happy!

I’m on my iPod and the link she no work for me. Does that link go to that whack job radio guy that interviewed Charlie Sheen a month or so ago?

no, it’s to an article on a website called citizens4freedom.com

here’s the radio show (via youtube) that was originally linked to:

I couldnt listen to much of it, but she gave the website where she got the story she was talking about and I can read faster than she can talk, so I went there.

ETA: LOL I just listened to about 2 minutes of it, and one thing she says is “isn’t it weird that he never has any family around him? No mother, no father…” Um, yeah, they’re dead.

Well, isn’t that just a little too convenient.

I found the first page I read about this much more convincing,

I mean, if you can’t trust a chain of forwarded e-mails, what can you trust?

Fascinating that Obama was also in on the whole CIA/DEA-Mena-Afghanistan-Contras-cocaine thing, gotta love how none of the rightwingers who believe in that ever seems to connect the final dot . . . it was Reagan’s CIA/DEA!

CMC fnord!

There are no reliable sources in Texas. It’s full of Texans.

Affirmative action, of course.

In the first place if he is dumb enough to send a group of investigators to Hawaii, to get what the state gives out for free, he is pretty stupid. States have an agency that gives that info out upon request ,assuming you have a genuine legal interest. Trump is lying through his wig. He is just playing to the haters who will believe anything they hear or read that is bad about Obama. Bigotry is playing a big part in this “movement”.

Not **US **it shouldn’t. We know better.

<sigh>

Well of course in this you are correct; none exists. And Donald, like every birther, knows this fact as matter of adamant certainty.

A strategic mistake for him then, referring to incoming evidence. Setting out ‘I will provide x facts on such date.’ A date which will be the endpoint of his campaign.

Not so. Stupidity can’t be helped and we are all willfully ignorant of far more than we can ever know. For example, how many times in the course of the day do you encounter a book or a subject in the news or on this board that you decide not to delve into further? Each time you decide not to read a book you see, or investigate a noise outside, or a link on a news cite or a subject mentioned in the news or a thread you see here on the Dope, you are choosing to be willfully ignorant in regard to that subject. We all do this dozens if not hundreds of times a day. It would be impossible to do otherwise.

Perhaps what you mean is that willful ignorance on a subject of importance to you should “hurt”?

If someone is willfully ignorant about esoteric details regarding an unimportant story, that’s their prerogative.

But, whether your country’s president is illegally in their position should be “a subject of importance” to most people.

If I read somewhere that my country’s leader shouldn’t legally be allowed to be in their position, I wouldn’t just read the headline of one article from a disreputable source, choose to believe that they’re correct without getting any corroborating information from other sources, shrug my shoulders and move on. If I did that, I would deliberately willfully ignorant, and unable to defend myself from anyone who (correctly) could call me a moron or worse.

Nonsense. As I’ve explained already explained probably a half dozen times, when it comes to something as important as a person’s eligibility to be president, most people realize they have no say so personally in regard to how the issue plays out and they therefore leave it up to congress and the courts to review the evidence and make the correct determination. There were a lot of people who delved mightily into the hanging chad issue in regard to Bush’s 2000 election and were utterly convinced his election was illegitimate. What difference did it make what they found out? The courts determined he won and that was that. Same here. The powers that be have determined Obama’s eligibility, and it doesn’t matter at all whether the average citizen personally finds out about something that supports or challenges that.

Also, I think you’d be well served to look up the definition of “moron”, because “People who don’t act the way I think they should” ain’t it.

It’s funny you keep saying things like that considering that anyone that disagrees with you gets lumped into the “liberal” category and you put all sorts of negative connotations with that particular word, don’t you? Not to mention how even the term “liberal” is simply a very rough representation of a set of political views. In other words, someone who doesn’t act or think the way you think they should.

And who exactly is saying that people who don’t behave they way they think they should are morons. Personally, I’m speaking of people who either flat out ignore actual really real facts or people who decide to form an opinion based on completely sketch information.

I’ve different terms entirely for people like your good buddy Trump who tell great big huge fucking lies and spread misinformation simply for profit or just old fashioned attention whoring.

Anything else I can clear up for you, or if I need to drop down to simple words (possibly pictures, though I warn you that I’m just lousy at pictionary), you just go right ahead and let me know.
