I saw something about it on the news. Now I don’t know if it’s true or not but people were talking about it. So it’s entirely reasonable that I continue to wonder about this unanswered question, right?
CMC fnord!
The problem is “we all know that neither she nor her husband are above any dirty trick they can think of” isn’t saying anything. So you’re free to say “I never said that” to any and all accusations made about them. This leaves everyone free to fling whatever shit they want to and the truth doesn’t matter, if it sticks it becomes something we’re forced to refute. Once it is refuted (Obama provides his birth certificate) the goal posts get moved, where’s his “long-form birth certificate”. Six months later were back to “Obama’s grandmother said he was born in Kenya” and we’re back to playing whack-a-mole and I’m stuck with an ever increasing collection of bookmarks.
Sure, you can wonder about it all you like, but it’s not exactly kosher to construct your question with a quote of mine so it appears to be a claim I’ve made.
It actually was because of anonymous emails that came to Hillary’s people during the campaign against Obama. If you have proof the anonymous emails came from leftys, please provide it.
Yes, because there’s a huge difference between a deliberate act by the campaign of a political candidate and an anonymous email campaign by a supporter of said candidate. You’d be rushing to the defense of a Republican candidate were the situation reversed, blaming knee-jerk liberals all the way.
Well, as nobody’s been claiming the issue was “created” by such a conspiracy, you’re arguing with nobody.
Besides, perpetuating birtherism is just as stupid as having created it in the first place.

Hell, they even had their friend Vince Foster murdered!

You see a question in there, but you don’t see that this,

is amazingly similar to the defense you made for people who still have questions* about Obama’s birth certificate?
(*I’ve no hope that what was released today with shut them up.)
The thing is, my defense was a general one against preposterous claims that anyone with unresolved questions regarding Obama’s birth is by definition stupid. You on the other hand constructed that post in a way to make it look like I specifically claimed the Clintons had Foster murdered, which is a whole 'nother kettle of fish, both stylistically and and factually.
Yup. I’m a lefty, I supported HC, and I never saw that email. You can’t blame her for one moron capitalizing on speculation and making rumors go viral. That Obama is a Muslim and went to school in a Madrassa crap has been around since 2004.
And I, for one, am not going to spend the next two hours blaming a sleep medication for my inability to answer my opponents logically and with thought. Instead, I shall simply go to bed.

Yeah, Frank, how dare you belittle SA that way. The man has worked long and hard over the years at developing a reputation for thoughtlessness and illogic. It’s such a cheap shot to try to deprive him of the distinction just because he enhanced the effect with Ambien a handful of times.
Besides, ask yourself this: do SA’s daytime posts show a greater command of logic than his night time ones? Is he that much more likely at night to cite an article while writing a post that demonstrates that he either failed to read his cite or failed to comprehend it?
Just to nitpick: Andy Martin’s beef in 2004 seems* to have been the “Obama is a secret Muslim” meme. A different, if equally crap-filled, conspiracy theory.
Martin did file a 2008 suit demanding that the state of Hawaii release Obama’s birth certificate, but I’m not sure if he joined the birthers or if he hoped the birth certificate would support yet another of his conspiracy theories, namely that Obama’s real father was Frank Marshall Davis, a friend of Barack Obama Sr and a journalist/labor activist who was accused by HUAC of running a Communist front group.
*Based mostly on Wikipedia and a handful of other sources. I’m not particularly interested in delving into the guy in depth and am quite willing to be corrected on the matter if anyone has evidence Martin was a birther back then.
Back to talking about Trump - I was watching Lawrence O’Donnell on MSNBC last night, and apparently yesterday a reporter flat out asked The Donald if he is actually going to run for President or not. Not wanting to break his habit of avoiding answering any question asked of him, Trump said that he couldn’t answer that question now, since he has such a hit show on tv he will wait until after the season finale of The Apprentice to announce whether or not he will run. And he says we’ll “be surprised” regarding his choice.
For one, really I think Trump thinks too much of himself (shocker, I know). Really, no one will be very surprised when he doesn’t run.
Secondly, as O’Donnell pointed out on his show last night, this is bullshit. Trump was hinting that he can’t announce whether he will run until after his show’s season finale, perhaps due to “equal time” airtime rules for candidates. But Trump can say right now whether he plans to run. “Equal time” restrictions wouldn’t kick in until he files his legal paperwork to run. He could say right now that he plans to file, and there would be no problem with continuing to finish airing this season of his show.
Also, it’s funny that NBC has announced some it’s fall lineup already. Surely they are aware if The Apprentice will be airing next season, and whether it would be with or without Trump. So if Trump has already made his decision about running, NBC most likely knows. On his show last night O’Donnell called on NBC to make an announcement whether The Donald will be on the show next season or not, and made it seem like it was their ethical duty to do so, since this situation with Trump puts NBC (as the broadcaster of The Apprentice) in a conflict of withholding information from itself (NBC as the news organization).
But really, I think this is a something NBC would never do. I’m sure Trump has no real interest in running, and he’s just trying to boost attention and ratings for himself. And I’m sure NBC is also interested in boosting ratings for The Apprentice, so they have a vested interest in keeping the Trumpapalooza machine going with endless speculation as to what Trump will do next.
I’m going to jump in here and disagree. I think Obama would love for Trump to be the last guy he runs against – from a certain point of view. I’m sure Obama would trounce Trump in the general election.
Ordinarily I feel lucky to be an American but for the moment, I am ashamed of this continual toleration of nonsense, lies, bullshit and halfass conspiracy theories.
Donald Trump is an asshole with bad hair, a douchelord with more money than sense and i’m so fucking tired of him and his shitty tv show. Donald Trump has proven to the world that he is nothing more than a racist with a jealous streak the size of Manhattan. It’s eating his guts to know that Obama got ahead of him.
Turnabout is fair play and I’d like to see some papers from Sarah Palin, Michael Steele Rush Limbaugh and Michele Bachmann can bring her rabies immunizations.
Not only that, but Obama’s father - having apparently impregnated his wife one month shy of her 18th birthday - was a pedophile. Plus he was 24-25 yrs. old at the time. According to some of the posts I’ve read on this board this is piling perversion on top of perversion, yet I haven’t heard a peep of complaint from anyone about this scurrilous behavior on the part of Obama’s parents. To wit:
Lolita Obama was born 11-29-42
Pervert Obama was born in 1936 (exact date not available through Wiki), meaning he was 7 to 8 years older than his child bride.
President Obama was born 8-4-61 (meaning his mother most likely got preggers in early November of 1960, at which time she would have been 17.)
I wonder if Trump knows about this?
Disclaimer: Gotcha again (:D), as tongue is planted firmly in cheek. My own mother got married at 17 (as did a great many women of previous generations) and my former wife is 8 years younger than me (neither were pregnant, btw). What I’m doing is lampooning the ridiculous hysteria going on these days regarding age gaps and sex with anyone a day under 18.
