ABCnews reported today that Trump is indeed suing Maher for $5 million.

My question is, would this case be similar to the Falwell vs Hustler case http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hustler_Magazine_v._Falwell, when Hustler claimed Falwell had drunken intercourse with his mother in an outhouse? I believe Maher was using satire to make a point.
Berke Breathed used to satirize Trump pretty mercilessly back in the 80’s with impunity.
This sounds like the definition of a frivolous lawsuit.
Was there an actual response from Maher upon the release of the document from Trump?
I assume he’s spending a lot of time talking to his lawyers before he responds publicly. Trump knows this suit is frivolous, but it could end up costing Maher a lot of money to defend it.
If the judge finds the lawsuit to be frivolous, will Maher be able to recoup his court costs?
I predict that Trump will next sue the estate of the late Henny Youngman, for (many years ago) refusing to let Trump take Youngman’s wife.

The thing I can see is that he can make Trump even more of a laughing stock by saying all these same things. He didn’t adhere to the stated conditions, and Maher has now withdrawn the offer since the guy decided to sue him.
The thing is, Trump himself doesn’t have much money, relatively speaking. A countersuit should really worry him.
Bill Maher was very funny about this tonight on Real Time. It’s worth a watch.
