Donald Trump transition 2016-2017

There is a guy on the NY subway system that likes to shit his pants and then scream at everyone about how the Ay-rabs are taking over the country. I hear that Trump’s team is seriously considering him for Director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

He speaks his mind, and many of Trump’s supporters agree with him.

I must ask if you have a citation for this.

Trump seems to have picked out his first foreign crisis. He’s going with China.

I believe they have nuclear weapons, do they not?

Interesting. In a similar vein Hillary’s husband uses candy to lure young children into the back of a plain, windowless van where he rapes them multiple times before selling them into slavery or hacking them to bits and burying them in unmarked graves depending on their value as pre-teen sex slaves. I hear that Hillary is still married to him and she was seriously considering him for the head of Health and Human Services.

His activities are shared by many of Hillary’s supporters and they agree with him.
This is fun. Let’s do another.

Naming Herman Cain as transitional National Security Adviser may have been a mistake.

I get that it’s just a diplomatic kerfuffle and that this can be straightened out with backdoor diplomacy and so forth, but Christ Trump is a moron, and what worries me is the fact that he has yet to name a single advisor who in any way reassures me that they have the a) intelligence to guide Trump and b) the testicular fortitude to confront him when he’s wrong.

Mattis is your guy (or should be) for these two things.

Because nothing indicates a calm, cool, guiding hand ready to rein in any excesses like the nickname Mad Dog.

I was referring to diplomacy but actually I am offering tepid support for the nomination of Mattis, who actually does seem like a good hire. I would hope that they follow the proper channels in actually changing the law before confirming his nomination. I don’t support just ignoring the law, but assuming they agree to that fix then I’d go along with it. I’m not really that concerned about a recent general serving in the Executive branch considering that the highest office in the land was created by / modeled after a popular general.

I have two issues with Mattis. One, he doesn’t seem to have experience running a bureaucracy like the Department of Defense. He’s going to need to have a really good civilian deputy. Two, I don’t know how he’s going to get along with Trump, who comes across as impulsive and totally lacking in knowledge but thinking he knows better than anyone. He may have changed Trump’s mind on torture, but I’ll be surprised if he lasts a term

Other than those concerns, he seems like a good choice

You really should educate yourself more about him.

Upon the advice of someone who’s opinion I respect, Mark Shields, the Avatar of Frumpy, I have reconsidered Gen. Mattis. From what I’ve been able to gather, his nickname (“Mad Dog”) is an expression of Marine irony. This is very reassuring, I am in a position of wary approval. His concern for his troops and his humanity speak well of him, as they speak well of anyone who possesses such virtues. He’ll do.

Question that still bothers me is why Il Douche seems to think he is the second coming of Patton. Surely, a fool will appoint advisers no smarter than he is, but what of a man who appoints advisers smarter than he is and doesn’t listen? We’ll see.

That’s a pretty cavalier attitude to have about maintaining civilian control of our military.

Citations are not needed anymore. One just repeats an assertion until it becomes a fact. Facts are simply defined as whatever the most people believe.

That’s the ticket! In Trump’s post-factual world, where he can tweet whatever fact-free nonsense he wants, we can just post anything we like, and claim it’s the truth. Glad to see you’re on board with this.
