I’m seeing lots of late breaking reports that Governor Tromaville is being vetted as VP Tromavile. Cites.
Is this real?
Besides being HUMILIATED by being told to “get on the plane” and “Go home” as well as humping McDonalds McStuffins from The Ronald to The Non-ald, what are his qualifications?
Of those qualifications, how many did he turn his back on when he decided to be Drumpf’s Gopher Intern?
(Og Knows, he hasn’t been a Governor Here in Years.)
Or is he trying to play the Cheney card with “Drumpf may be Bat-Shit Crazy, but if anything happens to him, my mobbed-up ass will be widening the chairs in the Oval Office for all four years.”?
Will he be telling the press corps “Look, don’t give me any Lip[del]itor[/del]…”?
Or, " I’m riding the Crest[del]or[/del] of this wave…!"
Or, " I’ve had enough of [del]Pravastatin[/del] Pravda statin’ that Russia is Better than us…"?
Wait, you’re actually surprised he’s being considered? Why does this surprise you? How many Republicans have actually come out publicly in support of Trump?
He’s got nothing to lose; he can’t run for another term until 2021 (since he can serve a 3rd if its not consecutive to the 2nd), and his job approval is in the crapper. He can bolster Trump’s argument about contesting states not won by the GOP since 1988, which will help quell a delegate revolt.
If Trump were a legitimate GOP mirror of Bill Clinton, a centrist reaction to the party base losses, then it would’ve been a good idea. But Trump’s immigration and anti-Hispanic rhetoric ruined it. Christie himself coulda been the GOP’s version of Clinton, had he kept his approvals up and waited until 2020. Sad to Christie’s talent go to waste
(The second-tier choices include Jeff “be careful what you say to white folks” Sessions, who was rejected by the Senate when Ronald Reagan attempted to appoint him to a federal judgeship. Someone who couldn’t pass vetting to run a courthouse in Alabama is in the running to be a heartbeat away from the presidency.)
Look, it’s easy to look at a Republican politician from Newark with a Sicilian mother and think he’s mobbed up. Not because he’s Sicilian or from Newark, but because he’s a Republican and a politician.
Trump has mob ties. I expect Newt does as well. At least Christie is a *relatively *sympathetic human being, rather than a complete narcissistic psychopath like Newt Gingrich. I for one am gratified that with him as VP, a…sane if not competent hand will be ready to steer the ship of state, should Trump go off the reservation and have to be whacked.
I dont get to say this often, but I called it. Ever since he dropped out & supported Trump it has been an obvious bid for the VP spot.
I have little doubt that Christie could be the eventual beneficiary of a Trump flame-out. His thinking is likely “if he gets impeached, and it’s likely that he will, guess who’s next?”
