Okay, I have watched the last couple of seasons of Celebrity Apprentice. I have gotten sucked in, and caught up in the drama and tension and nastiness and Trumpiness. But Trump has steadily been getting more annoying. When I started, all I knew about him was his PR - he’s that ultra-rich businessman who is really smart. Then I watched the show, and discovered that he’s really a blowhard with a huge ego and a thin skin. Then I saw links from here to news articles on how he really isn’t that great a businessman, he’s had more failures than successes. He’s found ways to escape his debts, usually by being such a recalcitrant obstructionist that his debtors give up so they don’t have to deal with him any more.
And then he started all the birther shit. And kept at it. And now is still at it.
Sigh Okay, my big October Surprise announcement - I have decided I will not watch Celebrity Apprentice anymore. I’m tired of supporting this clown and contributing to the impression that he’s worthy of attention. He’s not.
Now, if I can just keep this resolution.

My wife’s observation about all this: you look around and see so many good and decent people, struggling to make a go of it and keep their heads above water. And here there’s a completely empty blowhard like Trump and look how successful he’s been. Sad, but that’s life.
