Dondra In The Hospital: Stroke [Back at home now]

COOL!

And: minoxidil? That’s wild. For folks who don’t recognize it, that’s the same ingredient as in Rogaine. The hair regrowth was a side effect discovered when they were testing it, a couple decades ago. I didn’t realize they still used it for BP control :).

That’s fantastic!

Great news!

Glad to hear it Dondra and Quasi! Salud!

To my Doper friends:
Thanks so much for your positive thoughts and wishes for my speedy recovery. It touches me that you think of me during my time of illness. I am thankful it was not actually a stroke, but having seizures all night long was easily the most traumatic thing I have ever experienced.
MamaZappa and TypoKnig: Thank you for your help and words of encouragement as well as acting as my “go-to” people so other Dopers could stay updated.
Janis: Thanks for the phone calls. I needed encouragement and you provided much.
Bill printed out all of the well wishes and brought them for me to read. Thank you all so much.
Dondra

Since we are all celebrating the good news I think this now calls for a joke. A guy accidentally got his Viagra and Rogaine doses mixed up. He ended up with a thick head of hair so stiff he couldn’t comb it

Again, glad to hear the good news Bill and Dondra.

Just saw this. You made us both laugh, mr.billfish678! Thanks!

B&D

(No! NOT bondage and discipline. Well… discipline for ME I reckon. ;))

I knew a woman who teased her hair so much, it bit her.

I’m glad that things are going so well, Quasimodem.

How did you come up with your user name?

Glad you got a laughed out of that. I mispoke a bit I think though. I guess the overall situation is not so much “good news” in itself but more that things are way better than they sounded like they could have been at first glance.

Take care you two.

It comes from the Victor Hugo novel The “Kyphoscoliotic” of Notre Dame, my favorite novel of all time. In 1990, when I first went online I just modernized it a bit for the digital age.

Thanks

Dondra wishes to thank our friend Foggy for the two “very cute” Get Well cards we received in the mail today.

“Tell him it was very thoughtful and sweet, and I appreciate them very much”.

I’m mostly staying awake during the night and sleeping in the daytime, so I’ll be sure to hear her, if she needs me, but so far, no further problems. Dr’s appointment in the morning.

Thanks everyone!

Bill

You are more than welcomed.
Glad you’re doing better.
