Dondra Not Doing Well

Dear Guys and Ladies

I mentioned this in another thread, but wanted to explain a bit further:

  1. We originally admitted D to the hospital Tuesday to “fine-tune” her meds., Because of her chronic lymphidimia and the swelling it causes, they were no longer working.

  2. While she was here though, she developed atrial fibrillation, chest tightness and other cardiac irregularities, (PAC’s for instance). So now she’s become a cardiac patient.

  3. Because she is also short of breath, they have also now diagnosed pulmonary hypertension. She has had a pulmonary artery pressur of 55 before, and it hasn’t improved.

  4. The A-Fib continues, as does the shortness of breath and weakness. She’s on a LOT of meds, including anti-arrrythmia medications, blood thinners, diueritics, albumen and pain meds, not to mention 5 specialists.

So I am here ATC, and being HER caregiver for a change. This is all a little overwhelming for both of us, so we’d like to see if y’all would send some love her way. We sure could use it.

I’ll try to keep the blog updated, but right now, this is where we are.

Seconded. Hang in there. Scary times for both of you, I’m hoping they get things evened out quickly. You two are such lovely people, I hate to see you guys in this fix.

Oh, Quasi, I’m so sorry to hear this. I am sending plenty of good thoughts and love to you and Dondra, in hopes of a quick and full recovery.

Thank you, everyone!!! I just showed her all your posts/well-wishes and they made her smile. It’s beginning to look more like a right-sided cath. We should know more tomorrow.

You know, I’ve told her many times she should sign up here, but she really doesn’t spend much leisure time on her computer. Plus, as she once told me, “One bat-shit Craig is enough.”

Can you tell why I lover her so much? :slight_smile:

I’m sitting here waiting on D to get back from a PFT (Pulmonary Function Test\Study) when in walks a gentleman carrying a shopping bag and asks me to sign a slip of paper for a get well gift for Dondra from none other than Mama Zappa and Typo Knig!!! I’m gonna hand her the lappie and let her write…
