Way back in the 80’s I remember hearing a song on college radio whose lyrics consisted of “Donna Summer on the radio. Donna Summer on the radio. Donna Summer on the radio … .” repeated over and over again. Then it segued into “Donna Summer on the refrigerator. Donna Summer on the stove … .”
Googling it is practically impossible because Donna Summer herself released a song titled “On the Radio”.
I know I’m not hallucinating because I’ve found some tangential references to it online (including the lyrics). But I’d really like to know who recorded it and hear it again.
Nope, but back I the 1980s when I was driving out in the hinterlands of Utah, I heard a song that consisted of the music from the film Rocky interspersed with the music from The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show (and an occasional “Rocky!” shouted by someone doing a good Bill Scott impersonation). I never heard it again, and never found out anything about it. I suspect someone cobbled it together on a sound board.
Your song may be homegrown, too. Especially if you heard it on a college station.
You’re welcome. I remember that song being played on Dr. D way back then. I might have it on one of my old cassettes but I’m not sure (friends and I used to record his show every Sunday night), but I definitely remember it being played back in the summer of '82.
So i had this compilation record with all great experimental tracks lent by a teacher at arts academy.
Yes and searching for it on the web proved difficult, till i remembered STOVE!
