I pretty much ignore all the bottom-tier chain “fun” restaurants - Chili’s, Applebee’s, Chevy’s, ten or fifteen variations of “cowboy grill,” half a dozen “Italian fusion” places…

The idea of donating 10% of receipts to the NAA apparently arose after a “heroic” Chili’s server repaired a “broken” cheeseburger for an autistic child, resulting in favorable publicity for the chain.
Now Chili’s can get to work repairing a corporate image broken by its foolish support of the NAA.

It’s the nearest Chili’s to me.

In the month or two after that story broke, we broke our usual blanket boycott of chain restaurants* and went there twice with our autistic son. They were extremely good to him, and the food was a solid B-.

Other than that, I have no dog in this fight. Most autism charities and awareness groups suck, from the big daddy (Autism Speaks) on down.

• Except when at rest stops on road trips.
