One Rich Kyanka over at Something Awful (might be NSFW) ran afoul of the dreaded AND streamered wrestling phenom known as the Ultimate Warrior and his fearsome “Director of Communications.” I don’t think I can encapsulate here the hilarity (and creepiness) of the as-yet-unresolved conflict, but I recommend you check out the site and Rich’s comments on his email exchange with the “Director of Communications.”
I love how people throw the word “libel” and “slander” around without really grasping what it means legally. And also how they want an apology.
It’s just. Wow.
Also, if you’re bored, SA has a whole section dedicated to the legal threats they’ve received and all the emails following. It’s great to see how people react to the insanity Lowtax and all throw at them. IIRC, the only threat which the site has actually backed down from was the Scientologists. And even then they just removed a picture of L. Ron Hubbard (or his likeness…I don’t really remember.).
Dang!
Thye should bring the Warrior back to the WWE as some sort of conserative heel character— with this crazy “manager” in tow. I just might start watching wrestling again.
Even the pubbies are embarrassed by him…

I was just browsing around, and I found what is being talked about here. Actually, I was considering starting a topic on it, till I say this. Reading over how progressively nutty and removed from reality the letters are (not to mention the fact they ARE from mrwarrior@earthlink.net) I am convinced Chris Lewis, Director of Communications, Ultimate Creations, Inc. and The Ultimate Warrior are in fact one and the same person. (Everyone else to Scott: “Welcome to last week!”
Looking around, it seems that the Ultimate Warriors is simply a title. Jim Helwigs his real name. However, that does not stop him from using the pseudonym of Lewis. Anyway, I still can not believe the following:
Here, I believe the following hysterical misspelling are entirely warranted. WTF!1111111One!!!OMG!!! Teh Ult can travel thru tyme &talk to the founder phatherz!?!"!!!Mazing!!!
Actually, Ultimate Warrior is his real name. He had it legally changed a while ago.
When choosing his “stage name” (and now, apparently, his legal name), this fellow must have confused the definitions of “Warrior” and “Dumbass”.
I seem to recall DC comic’s badass **Deathstroke the Terminator’s ** origins story had him tying a rope with streams hanging off onto his upper biceps and legs, for an outlandish look, designed to creep people out. Unlike the Warrior, it actually worked, in his case.
Actually he had to remove a pitcure of Jim Henson once too, although that event wasn’t so filled with drama. But yeah the legal threats section is great.
