Sure . . . if you mean that Europeans are not wot to roast their babies alive, or use pogo sticks as the basis of their national transportation system.
What drugs are you on? Even if Europeans are covering up more these days, it’s certainly not because they’ve been influenced by 200 years of puritanical doctrine. . .
I’m not waging in on the titty-fight, but European Society is quite different from American Society. Different cultural “glue”, different motivations, different sense of history, experience of the past century. . .
Pfffffffft! You mean this is a normal thing for him/her? Jeez, a little warning huh? I’ve been away, and am just now settling back in after my “big move” (sheesh, sounds like a kid’s book on how to cope with moving :D).
Anyway, I’d not seen this poster before, so was unaware of his/her tendencies. I thought she really WAS this upset over the thread.
I find it particularly amusing that CheekyMonkey has some kind of belief that this incident will reduce her TV viewing to “Little House on the Prairie” levels when (1) the incident happened in the US, (2) American networks and commentators are the ones in a tizzy and threatening to censor their shows, and (3) CheekyMonkey lives in CANADA!
I know full well that Canadian networks show a large amount of US network programming, but I also know that they show a large amount of Canadian programming as well, not to mention shows like The Sopranos and Sex in the City on free TV, uncensored (at least in Toronto–don’t know about Montreal). Don’t hold your breath that the Super Bowl will change that.
In the meantime, Cheeky, rail all you want about alleged American censorship, but don’t pretend it affects you somehow.
