Dope Trek - A guide to the inside jokes and other FAQs in the Trek/Enterprise threads

Huh. Showtime’s changed since the last time we subscribed to it then.

Yeah, when I last had cable, Cinemax was more like Skin-e-max (or Sin-e-max), while Showtime wasn’t showing as many of the almost softcore movies. They seemed to stick to major studio releases and their own series.

HBO was always full of shit.

The start of it all. Look back a few posts to see Wearia’s part in all this.

Serious developement which cost tracer over $15.00!! And cost cplant in other ways.
You were right*, you non UPN having DS9 lover. This is exactly the kind of thing this thread is meant for. It’s still fun to argue, though.

  • A very rare phrase for you to hear, I’m sure…

OK, more dumb newbie ST:E questions from yours truly. I just now finished Exile. I missed Impulse last week (my SO turned off my Tivo recording when it started on Weds. :frowning: ). I saw most of the episode before that (Raijiin), and that’s all I’ve seen.

  • I understand the Enterprise is trying to understand what’s making the gravimetric anomolies. Why are they so interested in doing this? Why not just plate Terriliwhatever-D on the ship and ignore the whole sphere map? (Yes, I know they’re still trying to make/find enogh whatsis-D, but why not concentrate entirely on doing that, instead of mapping spheres?)

  • What are the Spheres? I caught that they are somehow causing the gratitational anomolies. Are they artifacts? When did the ST:E crew decide to start mapping them?

  • Are the Spheres invisible or something until you get close enough? Was that why the shuttle “evaporated” and then reappeared near the sphere? Or were they teleported/wormholed to elsewhere?

  1. Terrelium D is a neurotoxin to Vulcan biochemistry. Using it would turn T’pol into a brain-eating zombie.

  2. I don’t think we’ve been told what they are yet. Most of us think they’re the cause of the Delphic Expanse’s anamolies an’ stuff.

  3. I have no idea.

Impulse explains that Vulcans are allergic to Tenacious D. Turns 'em into zombies.

So… there is a problem, you see, because half of the show’s lead actors are Vulcan.

Spheres: Don’t what they exist for yet or who made them. They have a wicked cloak around them, making them hard to find.

Wait a minute? Why wouldn’t it be Tripp and not Trip? It’s short for tripple, after all.

Triple.

Tripple.

Shit. Never mind.

Still. Time to explain some more bits about Xindi, Xindi Happy Fun Ball, spheres, and our continuing prediliction for coining names and acronyms. Anyone up for it?
