Which was the worst and why? In lieu of creating a new thread, I’m hijacking my own to redirect…
I was at the Las Vegas DopeFest, but sadly only for a brief time on Friday night (health reasons).
I was surprised, and yet not surprised, to find myself with a whole bunch of strangers who seemed like old friends - but oddly enough, I had really never read most of their posts, nor would I imagine they had read mine.
I think the SDMB attracks a certain mentality - open to opinions, but having your own. It is not a “chat room” where you are there to have sex or to plot some radical agenda. It really is a bunch of people of all age groups, of all political leanings, of all beliefs - a group of people who are curious and who are open to new experience and thoughts. I think the best moment, in my short visit, was to watch two opposite looking strangers, from thousands of miles apart, introduce themselves and jump right into a very interesting discussion. It is the way the world should be.
If I ever have the opportunity to go to another DopeFest, I will make it a point to be there for the entire event.
I’ve been out of town the last few days (guess where? - New Orleans Dopefest!), and as such had not seen this until now. It looks like all three parts of the OP have been addressed, but let me add something.
Pt. I - MPSIMS, as noted, and here;

You, CasperQ, appear to be a potential HouDope attendee. These HouDope gatherings have taken many forms, and it’s about time to propose another. Historically they’ve taken 6-10 weeks to get done, from the initial proposal thread to culmination.
So, perhaps it is time for me to float the next HouDope thread; it’s also prime time to inquire as to Little Nemo’s coming vacation plans.
Ringo - looking forward to it! Since I (sadly) only get to surf the boards every couple of days feel free to e-mail me a notice, too! Otherwise I’ll just hope I catch it as it floats in the miasmia of MPSIMS…
