You have a purse???
Oi! in Orstraya they’re called ‘man bags’
Yeah, I’ve got a man-bag that I keep a couple of my things in, too.
I call a man-bag a murse, short for male purse.
I have a Jack Spade murse, and it rocks.
No no, a murse is a male nurse.
I know, but I never have the opportunity to talk about male nurses and use the word in that context. I know a lot of men that carry purses… er, I mean, man-bags.
Two. One is a small one that I got at Target that’s wonderful. The other is actually too big to be considered a man-purse, because I think it was designed to carry a laptop. The ex got it for me for Christmas one year. It’s held up amazingly well considering how rough I am on it.
Yes, I feel the need to carry a bunch of stuff around with me. Glasses, sunglasses, camera, hat, rain jacket, umbrella, pocket knife, etc. I suppose this desire to be equipped is analogous to how women feel about their purses /hand bags. I use a small backpack and would never consider anything that could be mistaken for an actual purse.
A manly man like me would NEVER have a purse.
I DO have a computer satchel that has my laptop, wireless mouse, thumb drive, business cards, aspirin packets, cold medicine, tissues, cell phone and anything else I might need.
I ALSO have a small backpack that goes on all Boy Scout events that carries my Scout Essentials: Ten Essentials - Wikipedia
But a PURSE? Of course not.
Messenger bag!
Supple leather, all kinds of room.
It just felt a bit juvenile to keep carrying a backpack.
Yes. I and my family refer to it as my purse, and I’ve had one for about 20 years now.
Anything small enough I carry in my pockets. Anything not small enough I carry in a soft-sided leather bag/briefcase. Who needs this middle ground?
Luurve me my Timbuk2 messenger bag. Don’t know what I ever did without it.
Is it wrong that I swap two laptop bags based on how much extraneous space I need?
A murse?
Don’t try to church it up. You’re carrying around a purse.
And no, I don’t have one.
I replaced my laptop bag with a messeanger bag-like thing, but it was detirmined to look too much like a man-purse. I’m back to the laptop bag.
I have pockets.
My computer is in my laptop bag only because it doesn’t fit in my pocket. Very rarely I might carry a briefcase. No purse. I’ll wear a skirt before I’ll carry a purse (I look rather dashing in my Clark tartan kilt, I’ll have you know)
Nope. Don’t need anything to carry stuff around in because I don’t need to carry around stuff.
As a tangent, I’ve always wondered about people who carry around a bunch of stuff, not counting for work, of course. I see people with the hugest amount of stuff just for getting about…purses the size of duffels, or hell, just be toting an entire fricking suitcase, cell phone plastered to ear, fat full length parkas when it’s 60 degrees out. And this is for going a few stops on the Metro to a cubicle and back?!?
Mine’s called a belt pouch, for kinda-historical outfits that predate trouser pockets (or trousers for that matter).
