Doper Musicians, what is this vintage synthisizer worth?

One of my Co-Workers has a vintage Triadex Muse, he has two synth modules and the Lightshow module, it’s been sitting in storage for the last 30 years…

and it still works perfectly, it’s basically a tone generator, but it’s essentially thefirst electronic synthesizer

any idea what these are worth, are they in high demand, how rare are they?

i figure if anyone on the Internet knows, it’d be my fellow Dopers…

hmm…upon further research, less than 280 made, and the LigtShow module is even rarer…

Gotta be worth something just because there’s not a single one of them listed on eBay.

As small as it appears, I’d certainly hang onto it - it’s not going to get any less rare. Your second link would seem to indicate it’s worth somewhere between $800 and $1800.

it’s actually rather large, with the Lightshow and two audio modules mounted together and stood on end, it’s around 3.5 to 4 feet tall, and about 8" wide front to rear

my co-worker is tempted to sell it, as he really wants a MacBook Pro…

bear in mind, the prices for the unit, IIRC, are for a single unit, and he’s got two of them, and those prices don’t include the Lightshow box either…

he’s definitely got a goldmine…

Well, according to this website, “One of the Muses sold last week [Article date Nov. 2004] on Ebay received a bid of $1,799, although $800 is a more realistic price.”
