Doper Valentines Exchange

I loved the one Punkyova sent. It was neat. I took mine down yesterday while I was dusting. I am going to put them in a shoe box in my closet that has all kinds of neat stuff in it. I look through it every so often, when I need a little lift.
Except for Twicksters, which I am using right now.

I don’t know about a collage. It wouldn’t be lame it you would put it where you can see it and smile whenever you look at it. If you ended up sticking it behind the couch, it would be lame.

Last year, I made a two-page spread in my scrapbook out of them. I’m planning on doing the same this year. It doesn’t take up a lot of space, but it’s still there to make me smile.

Misstee, I’m glad you liked it!

That’s a great idea! I’ma do that, too.

I’m not a “saver” – I guess because being a Navy brat, then sailor, then Navy spouse, I’ve done too much moving around. So I did with my Doper valentines what I’ve done the last few years – I stick 'em in a box to look through from time to time then, next year just before the next exchange, I’ll throw them away ready for the new batch. I did the same thing with my husband’s letters on deployment – saved them to look at 'till he came home, then threw them away.

I stuck al mine on my headboard behind the clock…WHy? you ask

I’ll telll ya…

This way the next time I decide to read in bed. I'll have some TWENTY bookmarks to choose from.. then out into wide wide world goes doper goodwill as I carry that book everywhere I go.

i had a lovely handpainted box to store mine in. this year i had to upgrade to a bigger box. it is nice to look at all the cards, i’ve added the confetti to the box as well. some of the confetti did get scattered in the “romance” sections of the house. every little bit counts!

Got one from Amarinth today; very cute, stamped card. I’m going to be sending some more out because I don’t want anyone who sent one to me to feel left out. I love you, my fellow Dopers.

I got two more yesterday (well today, since I didn’t pick up the mail til this morning), from norinew and Portia. Thank you both very much!

(Excellent verse, norine!)

Personally, I wasn’t thrilled with it; nonetheless, it was the best I could come up with. But I’m glad you liked it

Oh, I did!

And someday soon I’m gonna do the scrapbook thing. Must… get… motivation …

I sent out 25 V-day cards, and received 25 V-day cards. I’m assuming I got one from everyone I sent one to, and you all have my undying gratitude. Thanks, Dopers.

I got a bitter sweet valentine… FROM BITTERSWEET!

Seriously, a very nice custom card from her.

And… a neat card with a photo! from Portia.
I must be a stud. (Don’t hang mirrors on me, tho)

I am sure I got one from you, but you haven’t gotten mine (nor, sadly, has anyone else) – right around Valentine’s Day the two shows I’m involved in each had their own crises, and I’ve been working almost literally around the clock what with theatre and my two jobs.

Sorry, all. They will be going out soon. I have them, sitting here, waiting…
And I also like the scrapbook idea.

XJetGirlX, WOW! I mean, WOW! Nice card.
Say hi to Copasetic.

A huge thanks to every single doper who sent this Canadian a valentines…what a great idea and I’ll be signing up next year for sure!

Although will have to get more imaginative…what great cards, especially homemade ones!

Thanks, today, to DirkGntly, The (Sanguine?) Spider, twickster, Sunspace and dantheman!

Wow – two and a half weeks!!! I swear I thought I sent it airmail…

I love red ink…

I think my valentine mail has ended… sigh.

Hello all you Valentine reading/sending Dopers!

I just returned from a two week long business trip, with no flight home for the weekend between. It was HARSH. I on the 15th of February and I had received a few nice cards by then. But when I got back! Oh boy! My mailbox was FULL of love! I wish I could thank each one of your personally! Instead, I will just say that it was SO great of everyone to mail out so many cards. You guys are terrific…this really made my day after a long, hard trip. I think the collage idea was a great one.

Yes, I made my cards. Warning: I have glue and I know how to use it. I had SO much fun making them that it was worth it just to send them OUT…getting stuff back was just a big bonus. I’m considering holding on to my list and using it for Easter, just for the heck of it.

Laura

Thanks to Skittles and bittersweet!

All the V-day cards have brought a smile to my face. Thanks, y’all! ::kiss::
