58 people! Dang, I guess I should have started before tonight, eh?
These are going to go out in batches (Canada and UK tomorrow) – but I hope to have them all out by the end of the week.
Woo hoo! Fun stuff in my mailbox! I can’t wait!

I’ve addressed and stamped 32 or so… so off they go tomorrow! Some lucky people are getting Harry Potter cards!
Mine are all in the mailbox. I’d love to see my letter carrier’s face when he/she opens it and sees the stack of envelopes there. And I hope they all get to their intended recipients. I’d hate for someone to go without a personally-licked envelope from me because of an inept delivery system…
Cards away … hope airmail gets them all there on time.
I did like the terribly helpful people in the post office, who stood there and watched while I licked all the stamps, by hand. (Yes, it did go quicker when I started using my tongue, thank you very much.)
Earthpuppy, I’ll resend you the updates tonight. I seem to be having a few email problems at home.
I had a bit of trouble in the post office this morning. The sales clerk thought that when I asked for 56 stamps, I wanted a 56-cent stamp, which is now obsolete. I finally asked for a 37-cent stamp, quantity 56.
Anyhow, my valentine cards will go out today and tomorrow. I’ve included some confetti hearts for everyone in America. Sorry to Steve Wright and the Canadians, but I suspect metallic confetti might delay the mail going out of the country.
Well, most of mine went out this morning. I have to stop at the Post Office to get the stamps for the non-US ones. I also need to pick up a few more valentines, since I apparently miscounted when I was at the store. Maybe this time I’ll get some with functional glue on the envelopes; I ended up having to tape the flaps on almost all of them.
Um, for those whose cards may delayed -it may be the confetti. I’m hoping Scuba Ben is wrong…
For those of you on my list : FEAR NOT!
As I told FCM yesterday I pulled on of my famous flake outs late week. Twicks can vouch for how hard I was working on my writing! Anywho I was thinkin Valentine’s was weeks away instead of hours… so here I go negatives in hand to Ritz Camera to get my cards made up…
sigh Just think of me as the holiday that keeps on giving when you get your cards in time for St. Paddy’s!
Ummm…oops. Are you sure this is true?
All mine went out just a few minutes ago. I had a LOT of fun making them. I can’t WAIT to get things in the mail! It’s good to know that you guys are sending them out at all different times. That means I could be getting nifty mail for a couple of weeks!
Also, I don’t think anyone should feel bad for not MAKING cards. It’s quite ridiculous to do so, actually…when you can make things much simpler on yourself. I just happened to have a lot of pink paper and glue around, but I certainly don’t think it was “inferior” to get a box of cards at the store!
Laura
Well boy howdy! Now I wish I’d waited to mail my valentines until I’d read the whole underpants business!
And for the record, I have mailed a pair of skivvies before. I ain’t sayin’ to whom or to where, but I did it.
It was a joke though. Does that count?
You all will just have to be happy with what I did send to you. I got a kick out of it.
No, I’m not sure that metallic confetti might cause a problem with the post office. It’s pure rampant paranoia on my part.
I’d just like to note that this is the largest batch of Valentines I’ve done ever. Back in the day, we only had to have enough cards for the whole class of about 30 kids. Last year, I sent out only 1 card, which was up from the year before. So I’m as happy to exchange store-bought cards as I am to receive hand made cards.
Well, just came back from post office…$1.60 each for my U.S.dopers, $3.20 for U.K.!
Confetti better not cause a problem !
I just sent my valentines to the post office. For more details, see my upcoming Pit thread.
Mine went out in the mail today. No confetti in 'em, though – I’d already sealed them up before I read about it, darn it.
I’m looking forward to getting some cards too! This should be fun!
Mine went out today as well. The only indication of who they’re from is on the return address label.
Okay, mine are done. Going to Post Office first AM tomorrow.
I did so many different things. Not knowing how I was gonna do 58 Valentines, I got a lot of those little kids 'tines, some cheap cards, some scratch off 'tines, some printed out myself, some stuffed with little surprises, ALL of them personalised in one way or another. I tried to make the male to male 'tines not too mushy, but I just love you all so much! ::: mu-AH!! ::: (I’m NOT gay!)
You know these are gonna be worth ther weight in gold pressed latinum once I take over rulership of this part of the galaxy, right?
Just so you know…
Several papercuts on my tongue later, the valentines are ready to make their merry way around the world. Here’s hoping that the metallic heart confetti doesn’t cause any problems.
Whew! This is more work than I imagined. But I know it’ll be worth it. Over half mine are in the mail. The other half should go tomorrow (knock on wood). They’re “home made” but they look like they were done by an escaped mental patient. It’s the first time I’ve used that glitter stuff. Hey, whaddya know, this is the first Valentine’s day that doesn’t suck!
Mine will be going out tomorrow. I still have 10 or so more to make. The UK and Canadian ones might be a little late, but I’ll try my best to get them out on time! Yay for confetti!
I don’t mean to be a pest…and I certainly appreciate all your hard work facilitating this exchange Scuba_Ben, but I really need my expanded list. At least just the 3 newest additions.
Is there some other way for you to get it to me besides e-mail?
