How many Dopers plan to be at WorldCon in Philadelphia this year? Would there be any interest in getting together for lunch or dinner with other Dopers (and their friends) at some point? (I include non-Doper friends because, obviously, if they’re friends with Dopers they’re probably pretty cool, even if they have yet to see The Light Which is Cecil.)
Oooh… Worl Con is the same weekend as Dragon Con.

I hope to have a lot of fun. I’ve never been to a WorldCon before, although I’ve attended a lot of Balticons and some Darkovers and Lunacons. I’ve arranged to have the whole time off from work, gotten a hotel room in the main hotel (so it’s easy to get across the street without being hit by a car), and plan to get into the line to see the masquerade at LEAST two hours before it starts. With a new book, of course. I intend to go through the hucksters’ room like Montezuma’s revenge. 
Well, ok, maybe not quite that luridly . . . . I’d have to have a lot more money to do that. But I’ll be picking over those books pretty carefully. I’ve only got a couple thousand books, so I’m always looking to add more to the “I don’t have to borrow it from the library or anyone when I want to read it” collection.
