Update - with 40 days until the wedding, the dress is fitted and tonight, I washed its 100% polyester self in the tub w/ Kroger brand Woolite and cold water. It smells nice and hasn’t shrunk yet… I may have to have the seamstress go over a couple of appliques with white thread when she presses it, but the only thing left for me to do is get a corset and heels and I’m ready to roll.
I realize this isn’t earth-shattering news to anyone besides me, but the fiancee wants no knowledge of the dress goings-on until The Day and I have no real support sysem within 6 hours’ drive. Ya’ll are it.
I didn’t look at the date of the OP and was all set to come in here and tell you my opinion on the dresses there.
Anyway, congratulations to a married Doper(s)!
And even though you didn’t ask, as to the dresses in the OP, it would have been 4,1,2,3,5, in that order.
We’d had nachos at the ballfield, so we just had cider at Tommy Condon’s and Sticky Fingers catered our reception. Mm-mm good BBQ! It’s great to be back in Charleston, it will always feel like home to me.
I loved the dress–it was simple, yet simply elegant–but it was only one piece of the overall ensemble. She put up her hair beautifully, and made herself up perfectly. All I could focus on though were her beautiful brown eyes and the reflection of a smiling me in them. ::sigh::
Tripler
Wow. I married the girl I love. Weird, eh?
Sigh, I envy you two. There doesn’t seem to be any market for a fifty two year old, slightly used baker like myself. Isn’t the way to a man’s heart supposed to be through his stomach? This girl would cook and bake to his heart’s content.
