Camilla wasn’t a Catholic when Charles first met her, but she married a Catholic and therefore “converted” to all intents and purposes. If she & Charles wish to marry, either she has to recant or they have to alter the law barring Catholics marrying into the Royal family.
Or Charles could give up his claim to the throne, which might not be a bad move, seeing as he could easily be 70 or 80 years old by the time he succeeds his mother.
Nonsense. Marrying a Roman Catholic does not mean that one has ’ “converted” to all intents and purposes’ and there is no legal reason why a Protestant who has had a Catholic husband by a previous marriage cannot become queen consort. All the indications are that Mrs Parker Bowles is and always has been a member of the Church of England. Her ex-husband’s religion doesn’t come into it.
