I still get the gender confusion now and then about me. I don’t really mind, though. It’s more fun than not.
I’d imagine it was he that was mortified, in that situation.
Heck, even with a very feminine username (certainly much more feminine than my legal name) I still get called “he” around here. Why would anyone think that a poster with the name of a female monster from Greek mythology was a man? What man would choose such a name?

But I’d certainly have to say it’s the definitive way to test for maleness. Kudos for going the extra mile.
I never thought of Scylla as anything but male. Of course, that has a lot to do with the fact that a) the first thread I read of his was Goat Porn , and b) I’d recently read Marathon Man.

OK, so Shodan is a guy, after all. Which is what I thought all along, which is why I was surprsied to “learn” that he was female. So what the heck convinced me that he was female? Theories?
I’m female, which comes as a surprise to other posters occasionally. My fault for picking an ambiguous name. Interestingly, I have come to notice that unless the poster has an obvious female name, I tend to picture them as a white male of about my own age. (thirties)
