I just noticed something. After reading the scum thread I went back and looked at the 4 I accused of being scum right before my death; I went 3/4 only missing peeker. Sorry, just felt the need to brag considering how bad I just got my butt kicked.

Looks like I screwed the pooch. I had some heavy suspicion against both Hoopy Frood and bufftabby, but I never got around to making my case against Hoopy Frood, I think mostly because of the timing since I built up the case in my head, but it was the end of the day so I didn’t articulate it. And, I couldn’t substantiate a case against bufftabby other than the change in play style, which wasn’t enough.
And The Unkempt One, shame on you for not claiming. I hate to say this, but that was probably the biggest blunder because a Vig, even a one-shot Vig, is mostly verifiable and you would have avoided a lynch.
Yeah, I messed up. I thought I had a good reason not to claim, but the more I thought about it after I had been lynched the more I realized the error of my thinking. Live and learn, I suppose. I surely won’t make that mistake again.
Why do you say a Vig is verifiable?
A vig (or at least a killing role) is verifiable by the presence of the extra Night kill.
Of course, a paranoid person (like me) would be tempted to think “Vig? Or Serial Killer?” but the one-shot Vig would eventually have turned into a self-confirming Townie, which would have been very helpful for us idiots at that point.
Right, but you wouldn’t have that extra night kill until after the claim, probably (because after that the Vig is no longer really a power role.)

I don’t think so, at least on this board. I don’t really know how many games have been played bit I think this is possibly only the second time that scum have won.
Two games, two power roles, two wins and two still alive at the end. Who says Og doesn’t watch over fools and drunks.
Third time on the SDMB. The scum won M2 and YSI. They also won Blade Runner offboard, and two scum groups tied for the win in Three Kingdoms.

Sorry about the non-newbness of the game. I feel at least partly responsible for that, but it was my first (and only) game as scum, and I think I learned a lot about the Town side of it as well.
I think it’s hard to make a newb game that really works as such. I think Mafia’s really trial by fire. Follow a game once, then jump right in.
And I agree. There is no way to make this a “pretty please” and “so sorry” kind of game.
