If I get the op’s point, its not so much the double posting, it is the half assed excuse that follows.

If we all KNEW that, I suspect that we would all be wrong.
I have had several posts double in the last two weeks and I know that I did not hit Submit twice on any of them. On one or two, I may have hit the Refresh icon to see if the board would come back (an action I am expunging from my habits). However, the most frequent series of events has been that I got a 404 after submitting, then hit the Back button to see if I could recover the text. Even when I C&Ped the text into notepad and then killed the browser window, when I brought the browser up separately and logged into the SDMB, I discovered a double post.
Me too, I just did that recently.
Oh and that is another thing that pisses me off, people who just post a “me too” with no other reason for its existence. If you don’t have anything useful to say, don’t say anything.
Let me state, as the irate “The Great”,
I feel compelled to re-iterate,

It’s the follow up “Oops!” that I hate.
