Sure.
When you say retarded things people are going to remind you of the retarded things you said.
“Retarded…” you come up with the most creative boorish things to say; kind of like pulling rabbits out of a hat or chocolates from Forrest Gump ’ s candy box.
Forest Gump did not pull rabbits out of his chocolate box. Did you even see the movie?
From beginning to end. And you know better than to ask such a silly question. You know damn well he was talking about the chocolates: “You never know what you’re gonna get.”
things just woosh by you all the time.
Lighten up -
Just mind the chocolate raisins.
Clue for dougie: “pulling rabbits out of [del]a hat or[/del] chocolates from Forrest Gump ’ s candy box.”
Golly… I didn’t know THEY were in the box.
Neat trick of the week!
As an utterly pointless aside: Anyone else really hate that quote? For plenty of boxes of chocolate – for example, the Whitman sampler – they have a guide on the lid, so you know exactly what you’re gonna get.
For all I can recall, Forrest said that line in the movie, once. And he never had a chance to read the Straight Dope books, so he had no way of knowing the “code.”
If you “never know what you’re gonna get” then one has to assume that sometimes you might get rabbits.
or raisins.
Does it count if I just really hate the entire movie?
Because it is about a simpleton who just lucks into good fortune because he is just a naturally nice guy? And as such encourages real-life simpletons to take on things well beyond their abilites? Who then get all self-righteous when they fail?
Now THAT would be a surprise !
Good point, Doc. Nobody should look at Mr. Gump as a role model!
He’s enjoying the attention, if I may offer a shocking insight.
