Dr. Foster (BBC series currently on Netflix)

This excellent series is actually 2 years old so I don’t know how many people may have seen it in U.K or how many are watching it now. I’d love to discuss it but barring that, I have a very specific question for anyone who’s watched it.

The episode where Gemma purposely brings Simon to dinner at the Parks’ house in order to spill the beans about the affair. . .
We see Neil Parks giving them a tour of the house and at some point when G & S are left alone in the upstairs living room Gemma purposely drops and breaks a glass knickknack, seemingly to anger Kate (?). I could swear this happened after they’d eaten an uneventful if somewhat stiff meal. The scene ends with Kate cleaning up the glass and saying the mother is very upset about it. Next thing the dinner scene starts over and that’s when Gemma drops the bomb. Am I remembering this correctly? Was the first scene in Gemma’s head? The way it was edited or whatever completely confused me. For a moment I thought a new ep had started and it was a recap of the previous week until the scene played out differently and then I couldn’t tell what was supposed to be happening

Does anyone know what I’m talking about? I’ve been known to doze off while watching but in this case I was definitely awake.
