Dr Pepper vs Mr Pibb

Which do you prefer, and why.

I prefer Mr Pibb over Dr Pepper, since I can taste the cinnamon in it.

I even prefer Dr Faygo to Dr Pepper, since it has a more prominent lactic acid flavor.

I prefer Dr Pepper to Mr Pibb. Mr Pibb has some flavoring I don’t like. Maybe it is the cinnamon

Dr Pepper has more manly avertisements

look at that

Dr Pepper
but diet Dr Pepper is not as good as it is made out to be, I want the real stuff

But for a diet soda, it taste the most like it’s non diet version.

I’d say that would be Diet Mtn Dew…

I agree with this, though Diet Dr Pepper is probably a close 2nd.

I also prefer Pepper to Pibb…

Maybe it’s because it’s what I had first, but Pibb always tastes a little off to me.

I like both. Probably the most unconventional of the various Dr/Mr pops was Vess’s “Dr. Schnee.” And no, it did not taste like snow. Black cherry, maybe.

I drink both so rarely that I probably couldn’t tell one from the other.

I have a friend who swore by the generic brand “Dr. Smooth”, though.

If I’m eating salty, buttery popcorn, it’s Mr. Pibb.

Anything else, it’s DR. Pepper

I guess that’s because I’ve been brainwashed by the local theater chains around here. (They only offer Mr. Pibb. There is no Dr. Pepper to be had in ANY of the theaters here in the DFW area)

I’m going with Dr. Pepper, just because Mr. Pibb was too lazy to get his doctorate.

But, I’m a Pepper, he’s a Pepper, she’s a Pepper, wouldn’t you like to be a Pepper too?

(This appeal to the masses brought to you by Dr. Pepper Snapple bottling group)

All the soft drinks with Dr/Mr taste the same to me. Even the sodastream Dr Pete.

Mr. Pibb isn’t available around here. In this area, Coke has the Dr. Pepper franchise. I believe that Mr. Pibb is only sold by Coke in areas where Pepsi has the DP franchise as Coke’s competing version. On the occasions when I’ve traveled , mostly to the South, and had Mr. Pibb, I’ve hardly noticed a difference from DP, though if you twist my arm, I’d have to go with DP as slightly better.

Pibb is the poor man’s Pepper. It’s what I buy if there is no Dr. Pepper available (which is rare). It’s not awful by any means. It just isn’t the one I like.

I gave up on colas (Pepsi, Coke, even RC) a long time ago. First choice now is ginger ale, then lemon-lime (Upper 10 or Seven Up) and then the Dr Pepper taste. Mr Pibb is rare in these parts, at least where I shop for such things. I like it okay, but prefer the Doctor.

I was on the fence until this post. Now I am a Dr. Pepper man till the end of my days.

I love Dr. Pepper and Mr. Pibb both…but have always preferred Mr. Pibb a tick more. And the above finally cracked it for me as to why…it’s the cinnamon(!!). Cinnamon/spice is THE ONE FLAVOR I have always loved and have never gotten tired of at all. But I certainly don’t sneeze at Dr. Pepper whenever that’s the one of the two being offered instead.

Haven’t had a Dr. Pepper in donkey’s years, but I liked it a lot when I was a kid. I’ve never tasted Mr. Pibb, and somehow I always sort of assumed it was fruity flavored.

I guess I like Dr. Pepper better, but I don’t think cinnamon plays a role at all. Mr. Pibb has a “broader” taste, like that of root beer.

Though it’s been a long time since I’ve had either, Mr Pibb the longest. I may be mixing up flavors.

I hadn’t had either in years until the drink machine at the courthouse was out of Coke, so I got a Dr. Pepper. Liked it a lot, so now I’m drinking it several times a week. Not sure I’ve even seen a Mr. Pibb for sale anywhere recently…
