Dr. Podkayne Fries is in the hiz-zouse.

So, I successfully defended my PhD thesis this morning.

Whew.

I’m still in a bit of a daze. The defense itself went fine, but I’ve been a grad student for mumbledymumble years, and I’ve been working so hard on my thesis this summer, that I don’t hardly know what to do with myself at the moment.

Not work, for sure, at least until the champagne buzz wears off.

Woo hoo!

Congrats, Dr. Podkayne!

Congratulations, Dr. Poddy!

Congrats! <flinging confetti with wild and reckless abandon>

This means you’re treating us all to dinner tonight, right?

OK, fine, treat yourself. Be that way. Just make sure you celebrate! YAY!

What’s the title?
Does it have Planemos in it, or some other form of chewy goodness?

Congratulations!

The title is “An Extremely Narrow Application of Radiative Transfer Theory in Planetary Astronomy that Would Lead You to my Real Name in Google in About Three Seconds.”

There are photons in it. And wee particles. And a large, useless blob of gas.

I’ve already said too much.

Wow, that sounds just like my office.

Congrats, Doc!

Congratulationsl Dr. Pod! Truly a milestone. Champagne all around!

Congratulations!

Congratulations! What does this make you a doctor of, or will that give you away as well?

Congratulations! mwah

Pod, sweetie, my people are going to call your people about the movie rights. Gas or no gas, I smell a hit.

Seriously, huge congrats!

Congratulations, Dr. Podkayne!

Congratulations! Time to be changing your nick to Dr. Podkayne?

Congratuations, Poddy!!!

I read the title as “Dr. Podkayne fries in the big house,” and I thought, “Jesus, they gave you the electric chair? For what? And how in hell are you still posting?

Congratulations on your PhD, and on not receiving capital punishment!

Congratuations, Podkayne of Mars.

Now we finally know what Poddy did when she grew up, Heinlein and Uncle Tom would be proud to know she got her Doctorate in Astrophysics.

Jim

Congratulations! That’s wonderful news…

It’s clearly a good summer for Doper Astrophysicists!

My neck hurts when I do this.

You are officially over qualified!
