Cos’ it bears a resemblance to a Phillip K Dick novel, Dr. Bloodmoney, or How We Got Along After the Bomb Did Peter George or Stanley Kubrick take the title of the PKD novel and give it to the film or vice versa? Seems a mite of a coincidence to be otherwise.
Probably the other way around. “Dr. Bloodmoney” was printed in 1965, while the movie premiered the previous year.
Obviously PKD’s title is a spoof of the title of the film, which had premiered in theatres a year early.
The title Dr. Strangelove comes from the name of a character in the film, whose German name translated into that in English (“he changed it when he became a citizen.”)

 Once again the denizens of the Straightdope suffer my laziness. In my defence my brain was slightly too drink addled to research fully. I’ll do better in future, promise
