Dragon Age: Inquisition - One Week Away!!!

It’s hard to find flasks early in the game though.

Zoid, have you ever checked out the Dragon Age Wiki?

This happens all the time with me in that frigging tavern, Cole and Sera also vanish, as does Blackwall from the stable and Dorian from his library. Fortunately the fix (for me) is easy, quicksave and load and they should be there.

I’ve only had Cassandra vanish and just once but it was after a cut scene involving her so I thought she was elsewhere and wasted forever looking for her. Then the next time I reloaded, there she was.

An update to something brought up earlier; Leliana’s and Morrigan - you can actually ask about her but for some reason you have to say “You are well connected” again then you can select “Tell me about Morrigan”. Leliana said to my Inquisitor;

She’s changed. She used to be so disagreeable. Cruel. She said things just to hurt people. Now the sharp edges have worn away. Perhaps it was Kieran. He saved us, did you know? I would have lost my love without Morrigan’s child. I may never know her intentions, but I’ll always be grateful.

Nope, reloaded a few times and still no Iron Bull :frowning:

Even tried taking him out on some exploration, but still missing in action at the Tavern, Damn, I hope this gets fixed in the patch or doesn’t bork my game.

What’s the easiest dragon to take down btw? I tried my hands at the one in the Hinterlands. Got her down to about 25% HP, but the last wave of dragonlings took me out, after what must have been a 30 minute fight! This was on hard with a level 13 and level 14 party made up of Me a 14th level two-handed warrior, Cassy, Blackwall, and Solas.

Another question: I still don’t understand guard. How do warriors get it? How long does it last? Whatever it is, it kept my two sword and board warriors a live a LOT longer than my two-handed warrior who seems to be made out of paper in comparison.

Guard is gained by activating certain abilities, most of which are in either the sword n’ board tree or the vanguard tree. The shouting thing that taunts characters around you fill a portion of your guard for each enemy it affects. It’s really early in the vanguard tree. There are others that also help fill your guard. It’s the main “mini game” involved with playing that particular type of warrior - staggering your abilities to ensure that your cooldowns and stamina allow you to keep your guard filled.

I’m really uneven on dragon fights. When my group was level 17-18 we fought the first dragon in Emprise du Lion which was 19 and killed it on the first try. Then I fought the one in Western Approach which was level 15 and it took five tries :smack:

The Hinterlands one is the lowest level so it’s the “easiest” but, yeah, the miniwaves sap you of health/potions without doing damage to the dragon. The easiest ones to fight in my experience are the ones that take off every 25% and do a strafing loop before returning. The time they spend in the sky, I can let my regen potions take effect, get anyone down back on their feet, etc. The Western Approach one never leaves the battlefield so it was a tougher fight without the breather.

In general the enemy level system is off.
I’m nowhere near dragons, but around level 8-9 I had a 20 second TPK against a level 12 demon. Then in Oasis I took on 6 level 12 spiders without much of a scratch.

I’m still trying to hit on Cassy, even though I’m officially in a romance with Josephine. So far Liliana hasn’t tried to kill me. Yet.

But this is my character everytime he has to go to the war table:

::Rushing through Josephine’s office::

“Oh my what time is it, is it really so late! Oh hey Josey, Gotta meet everyone at the war table, no time to chat, l8tr!”.

Ha, I remember an Origins play-through where I had both Leliana and Morrigan at “Love” with me (which takes a little jiggering, a break-up and reestablishment of romance) and wanted to end the game that way. Which meant a lot of careful avoidance of both since a conversation with either would be the “Her or Me” talk.

I am still low level and went through one of those Tunnel-caves they have in the Hinterlands. When I came out the other side I saw lizards in a pool and before I could say “What’s this?” a dragon swooped down and set my party on fire. They all died but I had to admit it was very cool

They definitely do a good job setting up what will likely be your first Dragon encounter.

They hit you with the humble stick mighty hard at that point

“Oh you’re such a bad-ass killing all those templars and mages, Oooooh, so mighty the hero. Boom. You’re dead.”

Spoilers for Here Lies The Abyss quest:

So it wasn’t Andraste! Back to being unsure if the maker is real again. It seems like the world is operating under some specific rules, like our own, just with some type of parallel universe that cna be accessed.

Some of the written notes I found also seem to suggest that elves once had a connection to the fade…

Anyway, what did you guys do at the end? I had Hawke and the renegade Orlesian Grey Warden with me. Given the the Grey WArdens are so important, I thought it best to let that guy live, and let HAwke take one for the team. The emotional impact of my decision didn’t hit me until my post quest conversation with varric and his last line about having to let Merrill know what happened :frowning:

Apparently the Orlesian Warden is replaced with either Alistair or Loghain depending on your world state import. My Alistair is king, and I executed Loghain, whom I would have probably sacrificed instead of hawke.

Not sure if I would have had the option to allow the Grey Wardens to ally with me if I hadn’t saved the Orlesian Warden… kind of regretting it now. Poor Hawke. Poor Merrill.

Any suggestions on what to do next? I’m thinking about exploring a few more areas before taking on the empress quest. I’m afraid I’m going to do a quest that will push the main story forward too much.

Also, anyone know how to open those damn doors in the western approach?

You need to capture the fort, do the “where do these damn darkspawn come from?” quest, then do the operation that allows you to build bridges over the fuming pits and then you can get past those goddamn doors.

This is why everyone, at some point, says “Oh crap, I’m level 20. I better wrap this up soon”

It looks like PC will be getting a patch tomorrow, the 9th!

Consoles to follow at some point after.

Is there a list of patch notes?

Nope, not yet :frowning:

I’ve read that, sadly, the banter bug will not be addressed in this first patch.

And just when I’m starting to notice my guys becoming more and more silent.
