Mr. Poet, I shouldn’t need to tell you this, but getting vivisected by a rabid mutant chipmunk with a rusty cheese grater would be preferable to a Barney marathon.
But a Barney marathon would be preferable to a Teletubbies marathon, don’t you think?
Your Official Cat Goddess since 10/20/99.
Hey, I like that hat, man. They sell men’s clothes where you got that?
I piss my step son off by calling it Dragonballs. Z, S whatever.
I can’t stand it. Of course, I was a big fan of The G-Force when I was in elementary school. Actually, I could probably watch that today. Maybe.
The educated Otaku ladies and gentlemen.
YOU GIVE US ALL A BAD NAME, PLEASE STICK TO YOUR WRESTLING, YOUR RE-RUNS OF MARRIED WITH CHILDREN, AND YOUR GALLAGHER TAPES.
G-Force? That’s Space Ninja Team Gatchaman buddy! And don’t be callin’ Macross- Robotech, or Tekkaman Blade- Technoman either.
Where’s my side of FUN!?
Kisses!
Ophy
G-Force is G-Force, Robotech is Robotech, Voltron is Voltron. OK, you didn’t mention Voltron, but it’s the same deal.
They are all very different entities than Gatchaman, Macross/Southern Cross/Mospaeda, or Go Lion/Dairugger. Rewritten, reordered, reedited, retouched. They’re different. If I say Robotech, I mean Robotech. If I mean Macross I’ll say Macross.
They’re also good in their own right. I love Robotech, can’t really be bothered with most of Macross. Neither Gatchman or any of the 'toons adapted from it is all that good, IMO.
I agree…but I couldn’t think of his name when I was writing my response. I have read almost all of Ah! My Goddess and some of You’re under Arrest that I borrowed from my friend. Please Save My Earth is a really good anime that I would also recommend.
Are you saying that the fight between Goku and Freeza lasts 15-20 episodes, or is that the whole thing, including the bit with Vegeta, Piccoclo, et al.?
Yes, the actual fight lasts for about 20 episodes. If you take into account the entire time spent on Namek, I think that goes for about 75-80 episodes, but I’m not entirely sure. 40 of those have been dubbed recently with new voice actors, who pretty much suck. On the other hand, at least most of the gratuitous violence is kept intact, which is pretty much the only reason for watching the series.
Try to get the rest of YUA. It’s good. I’ve got the last 3 volumes in Japanese.
Oh, gods, gods…the horror of Krillin’s new voice. Goku’s either the same guy, or a flawless imitation, though.
Personally, I like the show. But it is true that the major fighting scenes last quite awhile, sometimes 20 to 25 episodes. In my opinion, that’s the only bad part about the show.
