Dragon fly flight show

We have had wet weather so bugs are having a field day.
I just came in from outside and there are more dragon flys swooping around than I have ever seen.
They almost out numbered the swallows.
Eastern Wisconsin here.

Dragonflies swooping in and saving me from swarms of deer flies is one of my coolest (Michigan) camping trip memories.

On Saturday, I was at the Willow Run air show in Detroit, watching 8 WW2 bombers (B-17s) in the air at one time, and simultaneously watching a couple of dragon flies buzzing around me. It was such a wierd situation - on one hand, these lumbering aluminum monstrosities were roaring overhead, and then these delicate little organic biplanes would flit through, zigzagging through the crowds with little “zip!-Zip!” noises.

Woah! I just emailed my uncle (a nature lover) about the sight I witnessed tonight - two dragon flies suddenly ambushed by two dozen swallows, and then the dragon flies suddenly became two dozen dragon flies and there was a big swoopy flight show in my back yard!!

The dragon flies decided to go low and stay out of the swallows’ way, and the dog noticed this swarm of huge bugs close to the ground and started chasing them. Awesome!

I’ve never seen that before. Having a new deck is awesome - it brings me closer to nature

This is in suburban NE Ohio, btw.

They are cool to watch. They can pull more than 25 g’s when turning abruptly.

And they sew your lips shut if you tell a lie.
My wife claims her parents never told her that important life lesson.
Mine told me, so, win for me?
