This is an invitation for you to write about your dream car…
I guess I’m the only one who didn’t realize my dream.
Your dream car was a chunky little station wagon? Interesting. My wife and I had to sell our 1992 Mazda Miata after our son was born. That was a great car, for practical as well as fun reasons. Oh well, the kid is pretty cool too.
I could have bought a 67 Chevy Impala SS clone convertible when I was in high school for about $800. It needed a transmission and lots of body work. It would have been really cool, except that it would have been a money pit, probably. I also looked at a Datsun 2000 convertible, I forget what year, maybe 1970? It was in really great shape, but I’ve heard those cars are not the most reliable. So once again, I was responsible and didn’t buy it. I should have just bought it and suffered and learned to fix it myself. ha ha. Or not.
Well, my husband has his dream car - a Nissan 300ZX… but now he wants to get rid of the darn thing, as it’s more trouble than it’s worth. It’s tough to sell, as it’s been stolen, also several attempted break ins (scratches on the keyhole), it’s not “stock” since it has a spoiler, etc. It’s not terribly loud, however, especially in our new, quieter apartment, the exhaust causes our neighbour’s car alarm to go off. Daily. Kids working at the drive thru will lean way out of their windows and ask if he races, how fast does it go, what year, how much, etc. before they bother handing over our McNuggets…
We’re trying to trade in this “dream” for something more “real”.
Note: as the wife, I actually didn’t say a word about it. Hubby is sick to death of this “dream” on his own. He wants something no one will ask if he races… say, a Honda Element.
i could have bought an e30 m3 when i was 14 for $6000, but my parents said buying a car is an unwise investment and hey i didnt even have a liscese, a few years later (today) the car would be worth 10-16l, plus i still wouldnt be jonseing for one
