Dress Code - Lounge Suit

My partner and I have been invited to a wedding in the grounds of the Botanic Gardens. The invitation says ‘Dress Code - Lounge Suit’, any suggestions as to what this may entail for men and women?

I had no idea what one was, so I plugged it into google images and got 33 hits that show “lounge suits”.
That didn’t exactly help, so I used “what is a lounge suit” as an exact phrase in google to see if that helped, and it gave me a definition:

Chaise lounge suit = Bathing suit + Beach towel

or it’s a typo : meet us at the Lounge suite.
anyway, it’s a wedding, put a tie on and don’t pig on the buffet.

My understanding is that a “lounge suit” is just a standard business-type suit, to be worn with a normal tie, as opposed to “morning suit” (top hat and tails type of thing, as might be worn to the Palace when receiving an OBE) or “black tie” (dinner jacket, bow tie and wing collar).

For women, I assume any sort of businesslike get-up would be acceptable: smart matching jacket and skirt for preference.

For chaps it is a previously stated. For women it is saying the hats are not expected. If the guys are wearing morning dress, which will include a topper, then the women should wear hats. If they come in lounge suits then hats are a no-no for the guys and optional for the women.

The idea of wearing a tux at a wedding is a strange American custom which you don’t see much in Europe. It’s evening dress, and who gets married in the evening?
