Driving in Virginia without a working turn signal?

Okay. Long story short, my turn signal doesn’t work now, through no fault of my own. Got it scheduled to be looked at by a reputable auto body shop place, but until Monday I got nothing.

Now, I use it anyway because I figure if I stop it’ll be hard to start again. But it doesn’t signal.

Would it be illegal to drive in this state with a nonfunctional turn signal? I’ve done a google search and didn’t find anything.

IANAV, but here in NYS if you use hand signals and they can’t nail you for not signalling. (Arm pointing left = left turn; arm pointing up = right turn.)

However I’ll bet you can’t pass inspection, but if it’s fixed by Monday you should have no problem then.
